Las mascotas son una brisa suave o, a veces, un gran chapoteo. Nos gustaría saber de esa mascota especial en tu vida. Puede ser la mascota que tenías de niño o tu mascota actual.¿Qué piensa usted al respecto?
Pets are a gentle breeze or sometimes a big splash. We would like to hear about that special pet in your life. It can be the pet you had as a child or your current pet. What do you think about it?
Zayn
Since I was little I love animals, my dream was to be a veterinarian but then I changed my mind about it, but I never lacked a companion in my life, my first pet was when I was 10 years old, it was a Poodle named Zayn, this was a gift from my mom after I insisted for a while that I wanted to have a dog. When he arrived he was very scared and was depressed for about three days, but then we could see the most playful and tender puppy of all.
Zayn was a great companion on walks, we ran in the yard and were very close. When he was little he loved to be petted and he loved it especially when we cleaned the yard and he could run around without any problems. I also remember when I came home from school with my glass with a little chicha (typical Venezuelan drink) and I would leave it for Zayn to drink the rest and he loved it, he would leave the glass clean.

I also remember when we used to take him for a ride in the car and to the hairdresser and when every night we were in the living room and Zayn was lying down and especially when we were cooking and Zayn was attentive and sometimes barked for us to give him some (he was a special sausage lover).
Zayn was one of my most important companions, when I was about 14-15 years old I was feeling very lonely and depressed and Zayn was there for me, to show me that after jun sad moment comes a happy moment and that everything I was living for back then is just passing. Part of my sadness I could forget thanks to Zayn and thanks to that, he became a great friend, of course he didn't understand me, but having him around made my sad days better.
Zayn died when he was about six years old, he got sick and died two days later, at that time we had no resources to take him to a vet, that day was very hard for me and my family, we cried a lot and had some depressed days, but I like to remember Zayn for the happy moments and for all the good times he gave us.

Chapu
Chapu was not exactly my pet, but he was my cousin, when he arrived he was very naughty and liked to bite, I took care of him mostly when he was a puppy since my uncle wanted him to take care of the house, so, my job was to take care of him until he was big enough to take him to my grandparents house. Chapu was the opposite of Zayn, he was quite mischievous and difficult to control at times, it was not an easy task to keep him calm even though we tried our best to do so. Chapu arrived shortly after Zayn's death, so in a way he kind of filled the void I had at that time for Zayn.
He was named after Chapulin, and my uncle said he was the most dangerous dog in the world, so his nickname was "Chapu: the most dangerous dog in the world". I always petted Chapu although sometimes he tried to play and ended up biting me, once he even bit my finger and I had a big wound. The neighbors were afraid of him because he barked a lot and he was very big, he could reach my size with a little effort.

Chapu filled me with joy, at that time I did not spend all my time alone, so Chapu was my playmate, sometimes I would approach him and although he did not understand me, I thought he could understand my feelings. Chapu represented those happy moments in my days, where I could play with him and my cousin Guillermo, it gave me a lot of happiness when Chapu would get excited when he arrived and although I didn't walk him because he was very strong, I could do other things like pet him because Chapu would lie down when he arrived because he knew I would pet him (it was that or he would ride me).
A few days ago, Chapu escaped from the house, we do not know where he may have gone and we do not know if he will be able to return because he does not know the area very well, I found out on Tuesday and he was lost on Sunday, it was a very sad situation for my family, especially because previously he had gone out, but returned soon after. This situation is very distressing for us, I only hope that he is well and can return soon.

Snider
Since a little before Valentine's Day, Snider has become my new companion, she is a 3 months old rabbit. She is a gift from my boyfriend and has become my new friend. At first I was a little nervous because it was the first time I had a rabbit and as many of you know, rabbits are very delicate animals, so, I must admit, I was afraid that I could do something wrong. Those nerves lasted about a week where I was more confident and thought: Come on, you can do it.
Snider grew up a lot during this time, she is almost twice her size when she came home, at first she was very shy, but now she is running around the house and is very spoiled. Snider came at a very happy time in my life, my family's financial situation was improving, I was doing better in college and I had a life partner. Many times Snider gave me peace of mind, I can't play with her as if she were a dog, but I can pet her even though sometimes she bites me, but it brings me a lot of happiness to have her there with me.

A few weeks ago my grandfather had a serious accident, a fall from the roof of my house and because of that he has several fractures, my life turned black, things had changed course from one moment to another and I was thinking the worst, luckily, I had my family united including Snider and faith in God and that everything would be fine, Snider gave me peace of mind and in the moments when my anxiety attacked, Snider was there to reassure me and remind me that I should always think positive and not get carried away by the bad.
Snider was able to improve my situation, having her around made my fears diminish and my faith increase and I can say that my grandfather is feeling much better, he is in pain, but he is feeling much better and that makes me very happy and reinforces my belief that miracles exist and we just have to believe in them. Snider is a little more than two months old at home, but his presence encourages my family, my mom likes him a lot even though he bites. I hope I can continue to be part of Snider's growth, there are still many things to experience and many things I plan to do with Snider, so I am very excited for the future that awaits us together.

These three pets are very important in my life, each one came at the right time and have helped me to overcome many things, Zayn came to brighten my day and show me that there will always be bad days, but there are more good days; Chapu taught me to have fun, to enjoy life, that's why we are here and life is only one so we must take advantage of it and Snider, taught me to calm down, not to get carried away by bad thoughts and take a break from time to time. But between the three of them they taught me about responsibility, having a pet is like having a human, they will be easier to take care of, but they are still living beings that need attention and care, they gave me happiness and in return, I offer happiness to those who are with me and those who left.
