Hello! Welcome to my blog.
It's been a while I posted on hive due to a lot of engagements for almost a month but I'm glad to be back. For some reasons, I was totally moody at work and the inner joy was not just there. It was written all over me,and those that cared kept checking up on me and that really helped me overcome the situation quickly.
One of the events that brought back my joyful mood was a video of appreciation from one of my learners because of the way I was able to explain a common saying to her. After my classes on this particular day, I was preparing to go home when I noticed Sarah a student in SS2 crying in her class and I decided to speak with her. She was reluctant at first but because I persisted she opened up to me that her father is late and there was this man in their church that proposed to mum and she was even one of the people that encouraged her mom to accept his proposal. I asked her why she did that and she replied that this man is a member of the choir and from his appearance, he looks caring and Godly. Before she continued, I already knew the man was the opposite of what she thought.
After listening to her, I learnt the man was domineering and was interested in her mother just to calm his sexual urge and has been abusing her sexually even when she is around being the only child. She is feeling guilty because she advice her mom and thought the reason they are unhappy was because of her.
I felt her pains and I just embraced her so that she can be calm and when she was calm, I made her realized that it was never her fault that her mother married the wrong man because her mother was the one who decided to marry the man although she only gave her own advice. She said
"Ma, how will I not make such mistake? People do say that you know a ripe and unripe fruits from the outward appearance. Does that means the saying is wrong?
I smiled at her intelligence and simple heart, I told her that the saying is not wrong because it has been true in some cases but not in all and that is why we have a counter statement that " Don't judge a book by its cover" when it comes to relationship whether love or just friendship, never rush into it. Test everyone you come across with time and don't ever judge from afar, move closer so that you can see clearly.
She felt relief after sharing with me and she decided to surprise me by making a video of my recent pictures that I posted just to show her appreciation.

I will conclude by saying, stop the blame! mistakes are bound to occur, learn from it, heal and move on. No one can make you happy except you, be intentional about your happiness and don't allow anything or anyone steal it from you.
