Hello friends of Hive! I hope you have a great week. Today I will tell you about some of the interviews that I was able to carry out with groups from the metal world.
Hola amigos de Hive! Espero tengan excelente semana. El día de hoy les contaré sobre algunas de las entrevistas que pude realizar a agrupaciones del mundo del metal.
I did these interviews for a fanzine called Antizine, it is a page dedicated to the promotion and news of metal bands from all countries. The founder of Antizine, I have known her for a few years and she contacted me to see if I wanted to be part of the team, since she knew that I had experience in the audiovisual medium and also knew several musicians.
I liked the proposal and accepted. Although it was not paid, it helped me learn to do things in which I had no experience, such as doing interviews. Prepare a kind of "script" to be able to have interesting questions, manage the interviewee in case he strays from the topic of conversation, practice the diction of the words so that everything is understood as well as possible, write in other languages, etc. They were things that I learned along the way.
Estas entrevistas las hacía para una fanzine llamado Antizine, es una página dedicada a la promoción y noticias de bandas de metal de todos los países. La fundadora de Antizine, la conozco desde hace algunos años y me contactó para ver si yo quería ser parte del equipo, ya que ella sabía que yo contaba con experiencia en el medio audiovisual y además conocía a varios músicos.
Me gustó la propuesta y acepté. A pesar de que no era remunerado, me sirvió para aprender a hacer cosas en la cual no tenía experiencia como lo era hacer entrevistas. Elaborar una especie de “guión” para poder tener preguntas interesantes, manejar al entrevistado por si se salía del tema de conversación, practicar la dicción de las palabras para que todo se entendiera lo mejor posible, redactar en otros idiomas, etc. Fueron cosas que fui aprendiendo en el camino.
The first interview that took place was in Lima – Peru, I remember it was a festival of several international bands, there were groups from Chile, the United States and Peru. One of them was the band called Nasty Savage, this is a Thrash Metal band founded in 1983, the interview was quite pleasant, apart from the fact that the vocalist was quite funny and always told us jokes and was quite pleasant.
La primera entrevista que se realizó fue en Lima – Perú, recuero que era un festival de varias bandas internacionales, había agrupaciones de Chile, Estados Unidos y Perú. Una de ellas era la banda llamada Nasty Savage, esta banda es de Thrash Metal fundada en 1983, la entrevista fue bastante amena, aparte que el vocalista era bastante gracioso y siempre nos contaba chistes y era bastante agradable.
We also had the opportunity to interview European groups such as the Italian band Bulldozer. It was also performed in Lima in a small concert that was held in the capital. By this time I already had a little more ease when doing the interviews, there weren't so many nerves when talking and I also had a more explored field to contact the producers and be able to coordinate everything.
También tuvimos la oportunidad de entrevistar agrupaciones europeas como lo fue con la banda italiana Bulldozer. También se realizó en Lima en un concierto pequeño que se realizó en la capital. Para este momento ya tenía un poco más de soltura al momento de hacer las entrevistas, no habían tantos nervios al momento de hablar y también ya tenía en campo más explorado para contactar a los productores y poder coordinar todo.
Then I moved to Argentina and I still continued to do interviews with local bands that were just starting out, to help them have more reach and be better known. When there were international concerts, he also took the opportunity and if they had time, they were interviewed, as was the case with the American bands Overkill, Venom Inc, Manowar, Atrophy, etc. Later the fanzine did not continue due to pandemic issues but I hope it will resume again, since it was a hobby that I really enjoyed a lot.
Luego me mudé a Argentina e igual seguí haciendo las entrevistas a bandas locales que estaban comenzando, para ayudarlas que tuviesen más alcance y más conocidas. Cuando había conciertos internacionales también aprovechaba la oportunidad y si disponían de tiempo, se les entrevistaba, como fue en caso con las bandas estadunidenses Overkill, Venom Inc, Manowar, Atrophy, etc. Ya luego el fanzine no siguió por temas de la pandemia pero espero que se reanude de nuevo, ya que era un hobby que realmente disfrutaba mucho.
