Hi Everyone,
This week has been very worrying for us. The flu in Japan has been pretty bad, with most people around us on the train or supermarket either coughing or having a runny nose. BB M started with a minor cough a week ago, but it turned into a high fever and vomiting when he started eating food. His fever wasn't too high, so we didn't give him any medicine, but as the first night came around, it shot up very quickly.
We gave him some paracetamol that helped in sleep through the night. By Monday, his fever was still around and he wasn't interested in eating and just wanted to lie down or watch TV. We all stayed at home to make sure he was ok. His fever was on and off and he didn't want to eat so we just made sure he was drinking. His lips were super dry, but we kept giving him liquid and energy drinks. Lucky we bought a heap of medicine from home as we told the doctor we were going away for 2+ months, so we had medicine to help with bacterial viruses or whatever else he may have.
Luckily on the 3rd day, his fever disappeared he didn't eat much but at least he wasn't vomiting. Today is the 5th day and he seemed to be back to his normal self though we are still asking him to put a mask on everywhere plus keep it very warm as it is super cold in Japan these days. The temperature is around -1 but it feels like -8 due to the wind that is coming by. We are due to go home soon and he is getting much better. We were so worried especially recently a very famous Tawainese actress died in Japan due to the flu, things could change very quickly we don't keep an eye on it or act quickly. I've been wearing a mask everywhere recently and have been drinking vitamin C since I arrived last year so luckily, things have been pretty good for the adults.

Another virus came and it's already very scary because of COVID. It's nice if you have over the counter medicine. You're a great mom. Please take care.
