As I read the two questions asked in this 64th contest edition of this lovely community, I chose to write a post about it, simply because it is such an important topic.
Gratitude is something that should become a daily routine for every individual, no matter what is going on. When we face challenges, it is especially important to focus on the things we have and can be grateful for. There is always something to be grateful for!
Every day in the morning and before going to bed, I think of the things I am grateful for and many times even during the day when I see something beautiful, like a cute puppy or a beautiful sunset, I just give a quick thanks in my mind when something goes right in my life. I am always thankful for the fresh air, the sun, warmth, birds, sound of the waves, my body and every organ that is working so well to keep me healthy and safe. My cat Ivy, my family and friends, having roof over my head, a reliable car, food on the table,... The list goes on and on.
But today I can focus on the main thing. With all that is going on in the world and seeing tension between people, to such an extent that it has divided people severely. It has destroyed families, relationships, friendships. So what I am most grateful for now, is the fact that I am lucky enough to have my family who share the same opinion about things that are happening, to have a family that supports me with everything, to have the family that I can always rely on. I too, have lost some friends recently as there is difference of opinion, and that is ok.
But although me and my family are far away from each other and haven't seen each other in nearly 3 years, we have built a better and stronger connection now more than ever before and that is absolutely the biggest thing I am grateful for. And that we are all strong enough to follow our intuition and stick with our believes no matter what. To have the people around me, I can openly talk about anything and for that I will forever be grateful.
And to share something nice about me - as the second part of the contest - I will focus on my care for the world. Not only caring about the people and always doing my best to help anyone I can, I also have a constant care for the earth, for the environment and the animals. Picking up pieces of plastic on the floor, as I just can't stand that crap ending up in the stomach of a peaceful turtle or a whale! I really wish people didn't throw garbage on the floor and just be mindful about it, put it in trash and well if you see something on the floor, just pick it up, especially if you have a bin close by and it's not super inconvenient. Small little things we do on a daily basis, can make a massive difference.
I mean look at what we have here:
Isn't it worth keeping it clean and safe? I'd say so ;) Thanks to everyone who is doing their good part for the environment.
Thank you for reading Hive tribe and big thanks to #ladiesOfHive community for the challenges that make us appreciate ourselves more and the things we have in our lives.
I am inviting @katiefreespirit to join the challenge :)
See you next time,
Kat

I do practice gratitude but you have taken it to the next level and I am going to pinch this from you
I should practice saying thank you for all the wonder and good around me
Littering is one of my pet peeves too, and these days with the masks being disposed of everywhere, gahhhhh
Thank you for sharing <33
THanks for your message, that's wonderful to read! :) I'm glad I could inspire you this way, it's very easy to get caught up in life and forget to see the small things around to be grateful for, or we have the misinterpretation that we should do a big ritual with writing things down or really spend a lot of time on gratitude, but just a quick note in your mind can be enough especially when surrounded by others.
Ohhh yup, don't get me started on the millions of useless masks trapped in the oceans, I see them on the floor everywhere, it's just terrible!
Wow is that where you live? Where is that?
Go you . The world needs more people like you.
I'm glad your family is stronger because of adversity.. some families weaken under pressure. I'm glad you have each other.
Yes, it is South Australia, and the beaches here are gorgeous for sure and although it is quite clean over here, a lot of plastic just comes from the sea, washes it on the shore and I always find some as I walk by. A diver I met a few years ago told me there is an insane amount of plastic in the oceans where he dives. Terrible!
But well, we can do something about it if we all put a bit of effort into it, I'm glad there is many who think the same way though, there is always hope !
Thank you for the comment :)
Thank you, I appreciate the support :):)
Happy New Year! I'm grateful to know people like you, and to know that people like you exist. :)
Thank you! It is great to know you as well and meeting people who have the same values :) Happy New Year to you too !
You received 2 LADY(LOH) tokens for entering the Ladies of Hive contest.
We believe that you should be rewarded for the time and effort spent in creating articles. The goal is to encourage token holders to accumulate and hold LOH tokens over a long period of time.
Thank you, that's a nice encouragement to keep the community going. I am happy to be part of it :)
Wonderful post! I loved the pictures of beach . I love beaches. I wonder how safe those beaches are for swimming . I mean , can you see sharks near the shore? Are waves very strong ? In my country, Venezuela, beaches are very friendly. 😎
Ohhh well, sharks are the bad part here haha. They are common in South Australia unfortunately but you wouldn't see them, mostly they can be found around the jetty because of all the fishermen. We do have shark patrol plane going around and puts out a signal and starts flying around the area where they spot a shark to inform people on the beach but that's just on nice days when they know people will be at the beach. I do go swimming, but keep in shallow waters, obviously it's not a good idea to swim far from shore. The wind here is very common and yes, not that many perfect beach days with no waves, but surfers need to go to certain beaches to find the right spot for it. Where I am, it's not wavy enough for them.
I would love to go to Venezuela, I'm sure it's beautiful over there! Just for the fact that the beaches are friendly haha :D
Thanks for letting me know, hopefully I can go there one day :)
