Hello there!! Are you following me?!? π Thank you for choosing to use my community TAG, as one of your choices. Even cooler that your post is in the Ladies Of Hive community. bibleref.com: What does Luke 10:38 mean?
"The story of Mary and Martha gives more nuance to the conversation. Martha appears receptive to Jesus' message. She invites Jesus to her home, and He accepts. The issue is that her priorities are unbalanced. She gives more weight to hosting Jesus than listening to Him (Luke 10:39β40). Mary submits entirely to Jesus and His message."
"She gives more weight to hosting Jesus than listening to Him (Luke 10:39β40). So spending more time entertaining the "idea" of God being there. Then NOT paying attention to his words right in front of her... We have this similar mindset so many times in our lives; people pretending to be something they are not. The act of them "pretending" to be your "whatever". But not really knowing anything about you... Interesting Bible Verse to share... and again, quite relevant to our times... Very nice...

Lmao. It is such a coincidence that we meet here πππ. Plus, I sincerely love your community. Hence, I tag your community. The ladies of hive and your community are kind of the same but have differences.
Actually, this is my first time posting in this community, so I just wanted it to give it a try.
Moving on~
I agreed that it is quite revelant in our Christian lives, and we live in a double standard lifestyle, but we cannot hide from Him for what we truly are. He knows if we were sincere in serving Him or not.
The story of Martha and Mary is about how to serve God.
With Martha and Mary, both of them truly loved God. Mary focused on God 100%, while Martha served Jesus 50%. I think that Martha wanted Jesus to praise her for her work or service, but her preparation occupied her.
When she complained to Him that she did all the work and Mary didn't lift a finger, Jesus gently disciplined Martha about her priorities, and He wants Martha to adapt Mary's attitude about how she should serve Him.
What God wants for us is to serve Him wholeheartedly like Mary did, and what He didn't look after is us serving two masters (Matthew 6:24) like Martha did.
That's why I love the chapter of John 15:5 as a reminder of serving Him.
