Man when you think about it in sheer numbers and how many of these insurance companies get there, it's really kind of absurd/sick/ridiculous that something like this exists. United Health Group made 22 billion dollars in profit only last year.

yeah I mean how else are they gonna make record profits
That's an average of $66.6 per person assuming USA has 330 million people, obviously not everyone is insured by them nor at that age, figure is probably a lot higher per person per year. You'd think with inflation and medical costs going high their profit margin would be lower.
Meanwhile, they let some people die because they couldn't give a little of that up. Shameful! It's always been that way though.
The proportions this issue is taking on are surreal. It is opening doors to different types of very important debates.
This is what happens when something goes from a voluntary service that has to compete in the open market for business to a government mandate.
