A quiet dire thing going on under the radar of most. I live in California, and the combo of it not being cold enough for the honeybees to slow down while the plants are still mainly on winter rest is stark. Bumblebee queens are popping up in December, but they don't need as much.
The local climate has an enormous influence on insects. And explaining something to a beekeeper in Canada or Africa from the perspective of a European beekeeper often makes no sense.
Of course ... regionality is a huge issue
