That's freaky - a private project runs a KYC process of a kind on Hive.

I'm glad I joined the legacy chain when nothing like that existed.

I don't share selfies and have never revealed my name here, and if I was asked to this way, I would quit in a snap.

HW in a nutshell.
No need to worry Jerry, no one knows your real name is Adam... (is one of them correct? 🤣)

Not even close :)

😂😂 It was worth a shot 😆

I wouldn't really call that KYC, the other platforms don't really force you to use real ID afaik, they just wanna combat someone coming in pretending to be this user with x followers on that web2 platform and then cross-posting their content and getting rewards off of it

It still feels rather Inappropriate, I've seen such comments under posts that were far from looking at least semi-professional. Here, for instance: https://peakd.com/hive-147010/@cocinaconmarina/los-platanos-de-mi-patio

Agree there definitely, there should be a threshold where either once you start earning a certain amount of rewards/posting too often or it seeming non-amateurish where you suspect it may not be genuine. Else it comes off like they're just trying to pretend they have a lot to do

I have seen that on a small account post. What went down does not look good for the platform. To me it looked like they were being accused of stealing someone's work without any evidence. And that the only reason he has to prove who he is is because he used liketu.

That is so sad!

It imho creates rather unfriendly environment.

Most definately!

Coinbase asked me for a selfie, I said nothing and did not do it...Next day I went back to do some transactions and no problem...no request for a selfie...interesting.

If you just swap crypto and not really trade it, try SimpleSwap. No KYC, works great.

Thank you @godfish ...I will give it a look.

I might have a referral link somewhere. Not sure if it would grant you any benefits, but I would likely get a few cents for your swaps. I don’t recommend it for that, though, I use it myself

Sounds lovely...thank you for thinking of it!

I don't understand. How would your authorship be confirmed by your socmed account?

Don't ask me.
