oh ChatGPT is great for some stuff but not the stuff i used Google for to begin with. I use ChatGPT on creative stuff or for stuff i already have the data for and it can help think about the data. Or I know it knows a lot on that subject.
I'd never heard of Perplexity, but it seems cool. I have pro subscriptions to both ChatGPT and Claude.ai but I'm always interested in checking out other tools. ChatGPT is great for many things, but one thing I like about Claude is that you can have projects with context.
I use perplexity the majority of the time but I still google often. Google should have jumped on the ai bandwagon faster because if they did, I probably wouldn't have tried out perplexity and stuck with it.
Perplexity is all about answering the types of questions you would have asked Google because you wanted it to go out and search web pages and find some answers. It's great for current events as well... for sure not a thing ChatGPT can do well
I works for me but I don't use AI a whole lot though. I mostly use it for an explanation of concepts I'm not very familiar with. It has basically replaced wikipedia for me.
Good for you! Neither do I, the only thing I use it for is it's AI image searching tool where you upload an image of a flower or something and it shows you info about it. Glad to detach from all that Google tracking stuff! 💪
Chat pro is so much better than google in terms of the answers it give me.
But for answers that requires specific answers, I still google to double check 😅

Perplexity gives website sources so if i need to double check i check it's sources like i would have on google.

Same here.
Lately I use a bit more the AiXplain chat. They combine a lot different AI into one.
But google search is down to 5-8%.
Plus some use of Gemein AI
To be fair I didn't use Google Search all that much before AI came around. It was often such a frustrating experience for certain types of questions.
AiXplain chat is cool as you might even change the LLMs - I have good results with this
