Yeah. It's easy to see the reason for it.
I had never seen this plant.
It might only grow in colder climates. The temperature was about 8 degrees Celsius when I took this photo, so the plant might like the cool weather.
It will be explained why I have never seen it here. In the region where I live in Brazil, it would be impossible for this plant to develop.

Yes, there are many varieties of plants here. Maybe your plant has a southern region.
I think it's one of the last berries available in fall / winter for the animals, they def are okay with cold, it's been down to around 0 here and they are still looking healthy
