Has anyone ever talked about how challenging is it to actually create an account for completely new user without any onboarder guide?
So far, the challenge with hiveonboard is that first you actually have to install hive-keychain before even completing the whole process. 1/2
Yea, it's probably one of the things that stops Hive from having a lot of users
I think I need to renew my guide on how to create account tbh because I noticed a very important pain point which people come to me panicking because they often missed the step during which the popup of hive-keychain is needed to eventually finalize the sign up process.
It's certainly one of the worst parts, this beginning to create accounts, it kind of forces the person who is inviting someone else to join the hive, to literally take their hand to cross the street lol
Creating account should be a lot more seamless imo and I mean Hiveonboard is a great way actually but the flowchar could be made simple.
Of course, I don't remember if I've ever used the inleo frontend to create a new account, but I know it's possible to make a new account there with just X and maybe gmail, I think that's it, it has to be done like this and then the keys arrive by email.
Yep, something like that than the current one is actually great.
I'll take a look at the inleo later to make sure I know what it's like
You're very right about this.
Have you ever tried helping anyone sign up?
Yeah. A couple of times. However, everyone gave up without even trying (which is quite sad).
is there anything you'd noticed during the singing up process? what was the actual problem during it?
I think the biggest issue for Brazilians that I tried to bring to Hive is firstly the language (since the vast majority don't speak or understand English) and, in particular, the dynamics of using Hive.
According to them: “something very complicated to deal with”. 👀
I see, so you've never really encountered anything during the account creation?
No, but I can already see that it would be a problem as you pointed out.
Unfortunately, complexity is a barrier for new users.
