I think they and Datura, their slightly smaller cousins, are sometimes called "angel's trumpets" ... and indeed they are aptly named for more reasons than one ... fruit looks a bit like squash, but DON'T ... for those who indulge, those are indeed the final trumpets!

They do a great job of landscaping the place with lot of different and unique plants. A real visual feast to walk around and admire. :)
