I think the @ecency search is the best for Hive stuff. I just found a post I made three years ago in a few seconds. We need the dapps to be competing on features to drive progress.
Update: Ecency has search within an account. In peakd you can do the same in Advanced search.
I think there would be a lot of competition if there was an "easy" way to go about it.
Personally, I'm planning on looking into developing some Hive stuff but with php
Providing a useful search engine is hard regarding infrastructure wise. :(
is it hard to index the content of all the posts?
100% agree with this. The backend tech of Hive is superb, but the front end needs to be at least as good in order to get people interested in it.
Very true!
It seems like the one thing that all UIs are struggling the most with is the search function.
Ecency has a good one and peakd's search is somewhat usable. Others are a complete mess though 😂
Both @peakd and @ecency use the same backend search engine (thanks to the ecency team).
If you can find something on Ecency but not on PeakD please let me know as that should not be the case.
Actually I can do it in peakd using the advanced search as that lets me specify an author. I'll update the original Snap. This cooperation benefits us all. Cheers
Awesome 👍
BTW There is a glitch that Snaps sometimes shows the wrong profile pic when viewing a reply.
I tried but cannot find that glitch.
Can you share a bigger screenshot? So I can see the full page and check using the same link?
I see that when I go from here and click on my post above. It does not do it every time. Just now it was showing the right avatar, but it obviously did happen before.
Thanks, will try to fix it 👍
I think @ecency has a lot of good featurettes!
Yes, but do do the others. peakd is really improving recently.
No doubts about this.
That's pretty cool! What keywords did you use/how did you search/what did you remember?
Also, what sets it apart from hive-searcher, that I still use, every now and then.
Just curious :<)
I was able to search just my own posts and then use a couple of key words from the post title. I've not used Hive Searcher in a while, but trying it now did not find that post.
Our search is powered by hivesearcher since maintain and develop it, we used all its features on our website and app
I first saw it way back an old 'Fest'. Being able to search my own posts is very useful.
Okay, I see. Cheers for the clarification.
