Today my #solar panels almost generated enough to cancel out what I imported to charge the battery. I pay 8.5p/kWh on cheap rate and get paid 15p to export. This is in mid-winter. In summer I will earn a lot more.

Heating is on gas, so that adds up, but we are saving a lot on electricity. One day we may get a heat pump.
We run a heat pump here, our area of North Carolina has nuclear power though so we have relatively cheap power.
That should come in handy considering the price of electricity is going up constantly
That just means my system pays for itself quicker as sunshine is free. Anyone who says we don't need alternative energy is likely to be in the pocket of the fossil fuel lobby.
