Today I start my journey towards my Les Paul Junior guitar. It will be a custom shop guitar (not a Gibson one) so it won't be cheap. Long way ahead but every journey starts with one step

That's cool. I believe they were designed as a budget model originally, but I know the custom shop stuff is serious money. I hope you get what you want.
Yea, that's true!
I've become rather picky about some stuff such as neck profiles, pickups and a few other details so I prefer to pay a bit more and get it exactly as I want haha
I have a British built guitar (by Gordon Smith) that is an LP Jr style. I'm happy with that. I wanted a Tele too and had a guy in the US build one to my spec for the price of a standard US Fender one. I can understand if you want it from Gibson though.
How much is it?
I'm not 100% sure yet because it will be a custom project so the price will be highly dependent on the specs I pick but I'm expecting something in the range of 17k to 20k Brazilian Reais. Somewhat around 4k USD
That's like 5 times less than I'd expect :)) Good for you :)
I wish I could justify spending 20k on a guitar haha maybe one day
But in any case, when you go beyond the 5k mark you are likely not getting a lot more quality and usually just paying for the brand... I still would do that if I could thou LOL
Why are you willing to pay like 15k extra for the brand if it's beyond your budget? For the prestige?
I'm not. I stick to the 4k-5k range
But if I had that kind of "fuck you" money I probably would. For the prestige, yea
I'd like to own super vintage gear someday but it's not something that makes me lose my sleep... perfectly happy with my cheaper but still awesome guitars!
Good luck on your journey.
