My husband decided to put in an above ground swimming pool. So he ordered it online and then assembled the whole thing himself.
He started out by levelling the ground. Here he added some crusher dust and is using a compactor to compact it all down.
He built this fence around it as per municipal bylaws. See the thin little round wire thingy? That is the first pool piece that he assembled.
He used his laser level thing to make sure the ground was perfectly level and he embedded those little blocks into the dirt. They are the foundation the pool will sit on.
See that roll of steel? That is the pool wall. He unrolled that and inserted the metal into the round track. On his first attempt a huge gust of wind came and tried to blow the steel away, so he had to roll it back up and wait until the storm ended.
Here is freakishly strong husband in his second attempt to insert the steel wall into the steel track.
Taa Daa! He did it. The next step was to bolt the two ends together. See that strip of bolts? He put those in all by himself because he is freakishly strong. Next was the lining. He had to stretch it out ad let it warm up in the sun. Of course it has been cool so it didn't warm up much.
Giving up on the sunshine, freakishly strong husband added a few inches of water and then started stretching the liner out. He attached his shop vac to the hose to suck out the air as he stretched away.
Once he got the liner in place, and had finished assembling the trim and installing the water filter and pump, freakishly strong husband got to work on the deck. The deck is finished now, and he still needs to finish off the rails. I should have a picture of that in another couple of days.
We haven't had much sun yet, but I have swum in it a few times already. It is ALMOST 20 Celsius in there. Brrrr!
So. What did your husband do this past week?
Thanks for reading!
Freakishly strong is actually the right word. If he's this strong at this age, imagine when he was younger!
HAHA! It is true. He is 62 now and still doesn't know his own strength.
