I suppose that shrinking token emissions is similar to what is happening on the BTC and some other chains... The general idea is to create scarcity and increase demand, which should move the token price UP, which means better USD value, despite getting fewer tokens...
That's why it was easier to accumulate HIVE in the past, and that's why it is easier to accumulate tokens NOW, compared to 2-3 and more years...
