Cuando llegué al lugar, saqué mi movil Tecno Spark y me puse a fotografiar el entorno, mientras algunas personas me observaban con cierta curiosidad y desconfianza, porque tambien de cierta manera era yo un intruso en la comarca.
Pero yo seguía en mi afán por capturar lo esencial en la belleza de aquellos dos robustos árboles que se han desarrollado en el duro ambiente urbano. Para mi fue impresionante la vision que aquellos dos gigantes me ofrecían.
Esta claro que para los lugareños la escena que para mi era totalmente nueva y exotica, para ellos era lo más comun y rutinario, y quizás hasta estaban un poco aburrido de verlos.

El Jaguey es un árbol muy enigmatico y tipico en los campos de Cuba, sobretodo por el enraizado aéreo y el entrelazamirnto de sus ramas con las raices que generan una escenografia a veces surrealista, a veces fantasmagóricas y que crean cierto temor a estar juto a él en horas avanzadas de la noche.
En la tradición campesina el arbol es morada de guijes y otros fantasmas de la noche, y al igual que 1la Ceiba en las liturgias heredadas de los cultos animistas africanos, es altar para ofrendas a los Orichas del panteón Yoruba.
Estos dos en los que me he regodeado en fotografiar son exelentes ejemplares de exuberantes diseño decorativo de los troncos y las raices que han ido aumentando el grosor de la estructura vegetal en complicado entramado.
En mi visita a este pequeños parque de árboles grandes, en el reparto San Agustin en el municipio habanero de La Lisa, solo tuve tiempo de hacerle un breve reportaje fotográfico, mas quiero en mi proxima visita, sentarme solo o acompañado, bajo la espesa sombra de estos dos Jagueyes....

But I continued in my eagerness to capture the essential beauty of those two robust trees that have developed in the harsh urban environment. For me, the sight of those two giants was impressive.

The Jaguey is a very enigmatic and typical tree in the Cuban countryside, especially for the aerial rooting and the intertwining of its branches with the roots that generate a sometimes surreal scenery, sometimes phantasmagoric and that create a certain fear to be next to it in the late hours of the night.
In the peasant tradition the tree is the abode of guijes and other ghosts of the night, and like the Ceiba in the liturgies inherited from the African animist cults, it is an altar for offerings to the Orichas of the Yoruba pantheon.
