@beeber did help, and had met @luckyfish1 before. and then she also thanked her, so I think perhaps you were seeing something that you perceived as rude, and maybe it wasn't.
Also - partial votes are not rude either. And it's not right for you to make anyone think that unless they get a 100% upvote, that its disingenuine.?
I'm really not seeing why you're the only one upset here. Many people give less than 100% upvotes. We are on curation trails that also give partial upvotes and most people on the chain try to support as many people as possible.
if we gave 100% upvotes all the time, we would only be able to support 10 people a day. So I think that is not only normal to give a partial upvote- but engaging and supportive.
Lastly - I'm not sure if you know this - but a lot of content on Hive is being stolen all the time, and curation groups (like my own) have to take the time to verify content AND images.
We can only give upvotes if we find out that its not plagiarized and that the images aren't copyrighted.
@luckyfish1 absolutely has her own content - and I know that because I've interacted with her before. But when I'm scouring through a lot of content - it helps the writer to get bigger curation votes on their content - IF THEY STATE that the images are their own.
It also helps the curation communities - if we don't have to spend time asking in the comment section if the pictures are their own, or if they got them someplace.
I literally just had this conversation with another curation community leader - who was asking if the images were the blogger's or if they had gotten them elsewhere (since they weren't cited). MANY people are grabbing images from other people's facebook accounts, instagram - things that LOOK like they are candid shots taken by them!
We have to make sure.
Some of the accounts have VERY LARGE upvotes and they don't want them going to places that are stealing content.
Sadly, that person that was due to get a big upvote didn't reply in time for the vote that day - and had to miss out from a nice upvote from the curation community.
So that's the reason why people are making sure to tell others to actually state it. It's not about being rude, or trying to imply that something is stolen. it's not to be mean - but rather to ensure that they are covered when large accounts come by to bring upvotes.
No one is trying to harm @luckyfish1 in any way, and it's sad that you're telling her otherwise when quite literally we want her to do well and have her content recognized.
I'm glad that you will upvote her! But it would be great if she would get support from not only you - but from other strong accounts too.
And telling her how to make her blog stand out for the best way to do that - IS helpful advice! 😊
Saying you don't have to cite your own content all the time?
How am.i being mean... How is this bad advice.
But seems like I'm stepping on toes over being helpful.
Whatever.... Have a good day.
