Being in India, I always knew that Santa would not come this far to fulfil my wishes but still, since childhood, I wish something from him every Christmas, so Christmas in December and Makar Sankranti on 14 January which is dedicated to the worshipping of the Sun. :)

Don't you celebrate Christmas in India? Santa can go everywhere in the world, you just need to believe in him and your wishes can be true.

Brother, you probably didn't read it completely. I said, I knew Santa would not come this far but still, since childhood I wish from him every Christmas. So I do celebrate Christmas!😊

I did read it, but I guess I misunderstood what you said πŸ™ˆ

Well, in December, we have one holiday which is the birthday of our leader QUAID E AZAM who founded the state of Pakistan.

Also my birthday is on 7th December so that's another fun holiday for me.

We have no special holiday in the month of January:(

Hello girls, and boys of the Ecency universe! 🌟

I live in Caracas, Venezuela πŸ‡»πŸ‡ͺ, and the days celebrated here in December and January are closely tied to the Catholic religion, which has the strongest presence in the country.

I celebrate every opportunity I have to create a post πŸ“. I do this because I see my content and creations as children to whom I have given love ❀️ and they are a testament to my journey through life. Posting on HIVE and especially on Ecency brings me great joy 😊.

Continuing with the topic of the question, the days to celebrate start from December 15th onwards. From that date, my group of friends and I started toasting every day to the achievements of the whole year πŸ₯‚. In other words, we spend our days accompanied by a bottle 🍾. But this doesn't mean we live drunk during those daysβ€”not at all. It's just a few glasses and bottles.

But the big celebrations are on December 24, 25, 28, 30, and 31 πŸŽ‰.

The party extends into January, especially on the 1st, 5th, and 6th dates, and we close on January 25th with my brother Carlos's birthday πŸŽ‚.

Merry Christmas to all! πŸŽ…πŸŽ„

‘Hola chicas, chicos del universo de Ecency! 🌟

It's very interesting the way you see your activity here on Hive and Ecency. To see your content as your child is kinda weird but it also has a lot of sense, because we give a lot of love to our content here.

What do you celebrate on December 28 and January 5?

Best wishes for you.

My creations are children because I create them with love ❀️ because I feel like a God when I create them and I keep them in my blog as a very beautiful part of me 🌟.

On December 28th, I celebrate the day I got divorced πŸ’”, and on January 5th, I celebrate the arrival of the Three Kings πŸ‘‘πŸ‘‘πŸ‘‘ and we celebrate until January 6th πŸŽ‰.

I have a question, do you see your divorce as a good thing or as a bad thing? Just curious.

A cycle that closes and one that opens. Divorce is the culmination of a stage in which one learns and loves. It is just a life lesson to then embark on another path.
NOTE: I must express that I do not speak English, therefore, to communicate with you and for my publications in English I must use translators. I mention this in case any expression comes out that is not very good or can be misunderstood. I hope I make myself understood.
Greetings from Caracas.

Don't worry about it, I fully understand what you say.

And you're right, it's just the end of a cycle.

Best wishes for you, dear friend.

Quite the celebration from December running through January. Nice your brothers birthday is far enough from Christmas for a separate celebration. Good for him and also good for everyone else to stretch out the celebrations a little bit further πŸ™‚

That's right, there is much to celebrate.
Blessings to you!

We celebrate Chrismas which is celebrated on 25th December and boxing day which is celebrated on 26th December. This is a time where family gets to meet with each other, bond and share love, gift and different varieties of food.

We also celebrate the 1st day of January. This is to thank God for the privilege to be alive to witness the new year and all the goodness that will come with it

I have always been struck by the fact that countries share gifts with each other at Christmas. It must be a beautiful moment with the family.

Oh yes, it is

New year is always a special day for my family πŸ’ž

That's great πŸ‘

In Spain we celebrate Christmas on 25th December, the New Year on 1st January and the Three Wise Men on 6th January.

Three Wise Men πŸ‘ I caught the start of Life of Brian yesterday which is a spoof on the Three Wise Men haha ok movie but not the best Monty Python material out there

Ahhhh Life of Brian is amazing and so fun! πŸ˜‚ I love that film. What is your favourite Monty Python movie?

You don't celebrate All the Eves that Came before the Christmas and New Year day?

Lol

πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

πŸ˜‚ They are included in them. For me they’re a pack.

Lol.... I love know what is inside a pack....

Because it can be packer πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ₯Š

The Three Wise Men? What is that? It sounds interesting.

They are part of the Christian tradition, they are named in the Bible. If you want to browse, here you can learn more about them:https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reyes_Magos

Very interesting. Thank you for sharing this information. Very educational.

That’s the Hive magic, hehe. Here we learn about cultures from all over the world.

In Hispanic America, we also celebrate these dates.

I think in Cuba don’t celebrate any religion festival, you make me doubt. πŸ€”

Few people celebrate it, but there are some. Most of the population claim to be atheists or follow Santeria.

In my country, we celebrate just two holidays in December and January.

They are Christmas and New year holidays which are priorities to many people since it is the time of the year we take breaks from work to spend quality time with family and friends. I celebrate both in my little way and it's always beautiful.

Wishing everyone a beautiful celebration as we look forward to the holidays... πŸ€—

Happy Holidays!

I wish you the same, thanks a lot.

The most important thing this holiday season is to be in family and share the love. Best wishes for you.

Thanks buddy, it's an opportunity for us to bond so I don't see any reason to do otherwise.

It's indeed a time set apart to merry and relax with family. Looking forward to it soon

We celebrate Christmas Day (December) and New Year (January). Also while they are not holidays, we have four birthdays in December, my sister's, 2 of my nieces and Dad's :)

4 birthdays! it seems like December is a party month there :)

Yes, although we are unsure of how things will go this time with Mom's health and all. Maybe we will have all four birthdays in one celebration :)

Wow, so you have some private fun holidays too...

Yes. It's usually a time for reunions😊

Β 2 days agoΒ (edited)Β

To me, birthdays are holidays, because they are days to celebrate and to be thankful for. Happy birthday to your sister, to your nieces and to your father. Best wishes for y'all.

That's an awesome way to see it. Birthdays are indeed special holidays. Thank you for your wishes😊

You're welcome, honey 😊

There are so many birthdays around this time, you will have many gifts to give out, happy holidays

That's right. I'm prepped for those days ;) Happy holidays too

These are great celebrations that are sure to bring joy to the family.
Merry Christmas!

Wow.. Christmas and new year celebration with your sisters birthday celebration πŸŽŠπŸŽ‰..that's loads of merriment πŸ€—

Does your family like have the birthdays around the holidays? its nice because people gather for the holidays but sometimes it feels like the birthdays are just grouped with everything else and can be forgotten or at least not as celebrated as if they fall during a different time of the year.

I celebrate my father's birthday on the 25th of December

Wow! Right on Christmas!

Yes yes yes exactly on Christmas day πŸ™‚

Omg, is your father Jesus? Jk lol.

Happy birthday in advance to him 😊

Hahaha πŸ˜‚
Thank you

December means winter break in school. So it may varies from 7 days to 10 days depending upon the weather. So our holidays begins on 25 and goes on upto 1 of January. A happy winter time at home.

Wait, you stop going to school right on December 25? Where I live holidays begins around December 15 and goes up to January's second week. It's almost an entire month of holidays.

Β 2 days agoΒ (edited)Β

We have classes till 24, after that we have holidays. In case of any urgency we might go for extra classes....but officially we were in holidays till begining of new year.

That's crazy. How can you have classes on December 24? It's Christmas eve that day.

These are days to have a good time, it's a good thing it's your vacation. Around here almost all of us go on vacation and they are a lot of fun.

Our vacation are for studies. There would be lots of work to complete.

The study is something that will be the basis for a better future, after which the vacations will come.

We celebrate Christmas on the 25th of December, and then on the 26th which is boxing Day where we exchange gifts and spend quality time with family and friends. Then on the 1st of January it's New Year celebration. Although not a holiday but in my family, we celebrate on the 23rd of December which is my daughter's birthday πŸŽ‚

That boxing day sounds very interesting. At first I thought it was about boxing (the sport) and I was kinda intrigued lol.

Happy holidays and happy birthday in advance to your daughter. Best wishes for y'all.

In December, I celebrate (all Venezuelans do) Christmas and New Year's Eve with dinners on the nights of the 24th and 31st, which include traditional dishes that are only prepared on these dates.

In January, my city celebrates the Procession of the Divine Shepherdess (Divina Pastora) on the 14th, a centennial activity of the Catholic Church (although anyone can participate even if they are not believers), that gathers hundreds of thousands of people from all over the country.

Whoa, that 14th January vacation seems like a grand one

Right! A really big one...

I'm curious, what kind of traditional dishes do you prepare for Christmas and New Year?

That January 14 holiday seems to be big deal. That's a lot of people together in one place. My OCD and my anxiety could not handle it lol.

Best wishes for you.

Wowww! Our traditional Christmas dish consists of Hallaca, Ham Bread (Pan de JamΓ³n), Chicken Salad and Baked Pork Legs.

The hallaca is a rectangular cake made with pre-cooked corn flour that looks a bit like a Mexican tamale, and has a filling of beef, chicken and pork stew, along with vegetables, and its ingredients and cooking method may vary according to the region. All this is wrapped in banana leaves and cooked in boiling water. It contains products from Europe, Africa and the American continent, which represents the cultural and ethnic diversity of Venezuela.

While the Pan de JamΓ³n is an elongated bread stuffed with smoked ham, bacon, olives and raisins, which can be prepared with bread dough or puff pastry dough.

As for the January 14 activity in my city, Barquisimeto, it is something that I cannot describe in words... it is a spiritual experience that you have to live in person sometime in your life.

That hallaca sounds very yummy. The Pan de JamΓ³n sounds good too but I don't like olives nor raisings πŸ™ˆ Maybe I could try it if there is a version without them haha.

If someday I go to Barquisimeto, Venezuela, I'll make sure to go by January 14 so I can live that experience, although I'm not a very religious person and I don't like crowded places 🀭

I celebrated my son birthday on the 1st of December.

Happy birthday to your son. I bet you all had funπŸ˜‰

Thank you so much

Happy Birthday to your son! How old is he now?

Thank you so much .. 2years

Happy birthday to your son 😊 but it is the only holiday you do celebrate this months? What about Christmas and New Year?

No, hahaha but this moment is very special for me in December.

Of course, your son's birthday should be very special. And even more special if he's your first son 🀭

Yes, you are right my first son.

I had a hunch about it and I was right 🀭 Congratulations on your first child, it's a really special time. Enjoy it as much as you can, because kids grow up so fast.

I remember when my first niece was born, it seems to be yesterday, and now she's 16 yo πŸ™ˆ

In the past, growing up, we used to celebrate "Sinterklaas" on the 5th of December (we're Dutch) and/or (depending on how it was arranged in your family) Christmas eve and the 2 Christmas days. For me personally, it meant that all three days (well, 2,5 technically) during Christmas were booked upfront after the rest of the family finally agreed on the planning because it wasn't an easy task with some in-laws who also claimed these days..

I hated the part of not having some chill days and preferred to only celebrate it Christmas eve and or one of the two days but it was not what it was growing up.

Once I got older and I had my own family, this changed and I decided to be in charge of these traditions myself and not be stressed about these days anymore. Once we moved abroad, we humbly celebrate it either with us three alone or a friend if this happens to be in the planning. We eat fancier breakfasts or leftovers from the evening before, order steak for dinner and bake Christmas cookies etc.

Of course we also have gifts and usually this can't wait until after Christmas morning, lol. In January we don't celebrate any of these holidays.

I'm sorry to hear that these holidays weren't enjoyable for you growing up, but I'm glad to hear that you get to celebrate them in your own way now. Best wishes to you and your family.

Of course we also had nice moments every Christmas but I always found the "must do this and that" planning every Christmas a lot of stress.. I was exhausted when it was over, haha. But I know this was an issue in many families, some just love this and others don't :)

True, but I also believe that the way you approach those tasks leads you to enjoy it or not.

I mean, you can always find a way to make the moment of deciding the decoration and/or putting up the decorations fun and enjoyable for everyone.

For example, in my family we usually play competition type games with each other which helps us reduce stress, plus the fact that sharing as a family helps with that as well.

I agree that these games make it more fun, I did that later with in-laws..

The decoration part was already long done before Christmas, in Holland we already put up the tree in November or early December :)

Also, if you are an only child, and left with all adults a whole day who are all having fun and some drinks until late, it's not that fun to be the only child is my experience. My niece and nephew were all long gone to the next family gathering while I stayed behind..

It's important that adults understand that these days aren't fun for children this way..

You're right. I think I was very lucky because I have 4 siblings and a lot of cousins around my age. My family has always been very numerous.

In the days of Christmas celebration, the most beautiful are the gifts, that's why I love to celebrate.
Merry Christmas!

I celebrate christmas on 24th with my family and just before that we celebrate my moms birthday on the 23rd.

We also have 4 "advent days" in my country, that my family usually uses to go and visit our beloved ancestors at the graveyard.

A double celebration, Christmas and your mother's birthday, what a joy.
Merry Christmas!

Happy all day

I celebrate December 1st as the 1st Winter Day, then Christmas, and the night from December 31st to January 1st as a switch to the New Year. :)
Also, I celebrate lots of Birthdays :) I have some friends who were born in December and January.

It sounds like a fun season to me. Happy birthday to your friends. Best wishes for y'all.

I celebrate Christmas and of course new year with my family

Those are 2 very family days!❀️

I'm glad to hear you spend this holiday season with your family, that's how it is mean to be. Best wishes for you ☺️

Everything with the family is always good, Merry Christmas!

I celebrate Xmas, New Year and my relatives birthdays

Thanks

We in China celebrate the New Year and the first grand festival of the lunar calendar in January, the Spring Festival.
We have holidays during which people gather with their families, eat big meals, watch performances, visit relatives and friends.
Those are the happiest day of the year. So when in January , welcome you to come to our country and have a good time !

I would love to visit China someday and enjoy these holidays there. It seems to be magical and special and I also love Chinese culture.

Best wishes for you.

thank you and welcome 😊

I would love to know that wonderful country, full of colors and traditions.
Merry Christmas!

yes ,you are right ,Merry Christmas!

In the Philippines, we have quite a long Christmas celebration. We usually start in September and conclude in January.

In December alone, we have the Feast of the Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception (patroness of the Philippines), then we have the Misa de Gallo (nine mornings prior to Christmas), Christmas day and Rizal Day on the 30th (Jose Rizal, our National Hero). We also have birthday celebrations almost every day of the month. That's maybe one of the reasons for the weight gain in this season. Happy holidays !BBH !LOLZ

In other words, there you have to be prepared to gain weight. I guess the rest of the year you have to be at the Gym.
Merry Christmas!

We starve the rest of the yearπŸ˜‚

Going to the gym (getting fit) is always on top of everyone's NY resolution but most of the time it stays on the listπŸ˜….

Thanks for dropping by bro !BBH !LOLZ

Β 2 days agoΒ (edited)Β

It seems it is a great month for you there in the Philippines.

It's a crazy thing you start celebrating Christmas as soon as September, why is that?

Yes it is. The neighbors would play Christmas songs on the 1st day of September.

It's the time of the year that sugar centrals start milling and producing sugar. People have jobs and the economy starts to flourish again after months of tiempos muertos

That's a good thing to hear, but it would be better if there were good times all year.

Also, do you speak Spanish in the Philippines?

Β yesterdayΒ (edited)Β

Spain occupied the Philippines for 3 centuries (around the same time with Mexico). Then Americans liberated us. Currently we have US English as our second language and Spanish is deeply ingrained in our vocabulary. !BBH !LOLZ

Ohh, interesting. I didn't know that. So you usually speak three languages?

We have many languages but generally we speak 3 languages. English, Filipino (National language), and the local language which usually depends on the which island one lives and we have more than 7 thousand islands πŸ˜…

In my family we have several people whose birthday are on December, so this month we celebrate a lot.

December 3, my aunt's birthday.
December 6, my brother's birthday.
December 11, another aunt's birthday.
December 19, my birthday.
December 20, my nephew's birthday.
December 21, my cousin's birthday.
December 24, Christmas eve.
December 25, Christmas.
December 29, another nephew's birthday.
December 31, New Year's eve.

As you can see, we have a lot of things to celebrate and to be thankful for. We really enjoy this month and we have no doubts that it is the best month of the year.

On January we only have New Year's holiday on the 1st of the month. So we really take those first days of the year to take a good rest so we can afford the new year with good energies.

Thank you @ecency for this contest and for helping us to really enjoy this Blockchain based platform. Keep up the good work.

Go beyond! Plus Ultra!

With so many celebrations in December, the good thing is to rest in January.
Merry Christmas!

You gat lots of celebrations during the December period, its pretty cool bro!

Its gonna be busy busy busy all through... Lol

Very busy, but I like it that way. The sad part is that I'm far from home right now. I hope I can make it home before my birthday.

I pray so too.. πŸ€—πŸ€—πŸ€—πŸ€—

Here is Nigeria we do celebrate Christmas in December 25th and boxing Day on the 26th and New Year's Day on January 1st. We usually travel to the village to spend time with loved ones, enjoy special meals, and have fun together.

Its a festive season where Christmas and new year is been celebrated but however is also a period for me where we have the opportunity to reunite with loved ones again especially when we don't really stay close to them. It's has really been a while I saw my mum and brothers, so this festive holiday will bring back that gathering again to see each other once more ans to bring back memories.

What Holiday Do You Celebrate In December/January?

The Only Holiday I celebrate in December is 24th Christmas Eve, 25 Christmas day, 26 Boxing πŸ₯Š 🎁 day and 31 New year Eve..
I could remember while growing up, I thought that Boxing day in a day for Boxers (fighting day) πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚.. lol

January 1st New year Day.. Most of the year, in Our Church "Anglican Communion", from the 2nd of January we do start a 40days fasting and prayer program which run through January to the first or second week of February...

See you all ... πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ Let me start eating from now oooo .. lol

Our family celebrates Christmas and New year on December 31. although it is not a holiday, we also celebrate the birthday of our uncle on December 23. it is kind of like a family reunion.

First I celebrate my birthday tomorrow, December 3, then Christmas πŸŽ„ time to have a good time with the family as well as the arrival of a new year which I hope will be prosperous and beneficial for everyone, in addition to the arrival of the Three Wise Men in January and the birthday of a very special person for me

In December, I celebrate Christmas, which is a time for family gatherings, gift-giving, and festive decorations.

In January, I celebrate New Year's Day, marking the start of a new year with reflections on the past and hopes for the future. It’s a time for resolutions and celebrations with friends and family.

We celebrate Christmas and always at least light candles for Hanukkah. Hanukkah is not really a major (or high) holiday for Jews but takes on added significance in the States so Jewish kids can celebrate and enjoy the holidays season with everyone else. πŸŽ…πŸ•Ž πŸ•ŠοΈ
