As many of you probably know, Ecency Points could be earned by simply using Ecency, delegating HP and it can also be purchased via in-app purchases from Ecency mobile apps as well as with HIVE and HBD transfers.
How purchase with HIVE/HBD works?
Each transfer of HIVE and HBD, were creating points in return. We were sending those tokens back to DHF. Transferring any amount of HIVE/HBD to @esteem.app with points or estm-purchase would give some points. Those tokens were then sent back to DHF, latest one is:

Why, when discontinued?
Some thought purchasing with HIVE and HBD is indirectly vote buying which is not 100% accurate description. Because every content boost requests are reviewed by independent curators and curation is never guaranteed, as oppose to vote buying which was automated and guaranteed in early days.
Our thought process was to create more use cases for HIVE and HBD within ecosystem, but if this service is cause of vote buying/selling view or being abused or encouraging abuse even, better for us to discontinue it. So we are shutting down points purchase with HIVE and HBD from 20th August, 2022. After 20th August, any new transfers will be sent back to origin and final balance of @esteem.app will be sent to DHF.
Curation project overview
We are attempting to make table of all curation projects on Hive but gathering that info is difficult or sometimes not available (at discretion of founders). We better leave it to project owners to create such table for easy referencing.
Here we present Ecency curation with few simple questions/answers:

but this is from August 20 because for several days they have returned my points, hopefully all these changes are for the better since thanks to @ecency we improve a little our rewards for users who do not have the fortune to be voted.

I have thoroughly enjoyed the ease of purchasing points with hive/hbd. Not only has it been a brilliant way to give out amazing prizes that we can actually all afford to do (feeling like small whales on the platform!!) but it has been a way to equip newbies with the power to actually grow on Hive without waiting the long months to be seen/discovered and actually begin thriving earlier here. It saddens me to see that Ecency would be criticized this way when Ecency has offered a way for people to actually grow faster and better - enabling MORE people to find Hive as an attractive place to be. But, this is the world we live in.
In the past few months, I've been touched by the heart behind Ecency and what they stand for - they have the soul of help and generosity and encouragment. It was an opportunity for people to HELP. at their OWN expense. A selfless act - all around. Because not only did the money that WE earned through hive - and PAID out to help others go to help them directly - it also went to the DHF which helped so many more projects.
It's unfortunate to see that something as truly GOOD as Ecency points is criticized when there is literally so much abuse going on all around the chain that continues without a hint of criticism.
After all this, I can only still commend Ecency and @good-karma for taking the high road and being above reproach. It's very sad that no good deed goes unpunished.
Just for the sake of clarity... I did see that we still CAN buy ecency points... just not with Hive/HBD. @melinda010100 maybe you can clarify that for me? So in order to buy points now - we need to sell Hive, to turn into fiat - and then purchase ecency points that way? If so, I understand, but wish there was an easier approach because this way.... we will lose more money in fees - in order to have less to give to others. Yes, it is still possible to purchase via mobile app (in-app purchase with fiat). Another possibility is to purchase from people who is willing to sell. Also earning with social activity as well as Community rewards still very helpful for communities to grow. We will be thinking ways to utilize Points and Hive tokens more in different ways...

the only downside to purchasing with fiat is that just last night I needed to purchase Hive... and in order to do that, it cost me $50 in fees all along the way, transferring from one place to another. Each transaction took money from my wallet - and put it into the wallets of exhanges. The beauty of being able to keep it all inside of HIVE is that is more funds to go exactly where we want them to go - NOT to fees.
I admire and respect the decisions that you've had to make on behalf of Ecency - and I do know that as a founder, there are many things that the public just doesn't get to see. And hard decisions need to be made. I appreciate that you're doing whatever it takes to continue to keep things running smoothly, keep people growing, protect and help the small accounts, and appease the critics (or attempt to. hehehe usually critics will never truly be satisifed until something is destroyed). But.. we press on :)

The points are an in-app purchase like when you play your games and pay for the stars so it uses your card linked to the appstore as a standard online purchase.
You do have a clear understanding of the world we live in! Ecency and Dreemport are growing, and we can continue to spread kindness in the world and in the Hive community.

Now, this @ijch account I originally setup for my daughter 2 years ago, but she never used is being attacked by the same group: galenkp, abh1234, bestofph, adamada and antisocial. Downvotes have the right to downvote. Unfortunately nothing can be done once they have decided that you are doing something wrong.
You can join HiveDR to convince that you are not doing anything wrong. If you are not doing anything wrong then they don't downvote.
