In Millfield High, there was one person everybody feared- The great Principal Carter, with her masculine built body and very sharp eyes and even sharper tongue, she was the principal of Millfield High, she ruled the school with such iron fist that nobody dared misbehave. Her students rarely stepped out of line when she is around, she always has a sneer expression on her face which makes it hard for anyone to approach her. There was nothing like fun written on her diary, she believed that once you allow a person to have fun , they over stepped their boundaries and start misbehaving.
Her old aged mother always tried to talk her out of her over serious zone….

“My daughter, you should allow these children have some fun, be happy around you. You know children bring a lot of blessings and you might actually get the blessings of having your own kids from them ”.

“I do not want kids, i am perfectly fine on my own and besides nobody is complaining about my leadership”.

“That’s because they're too scared to talk, a little fun has never done any harm to anybody before, you've always been so serious like your father ”.

“Look mother, i know what I'm doing ”, I know how hard i struggled before i was able to build this great school for this town and i am not going to listen to neither a second or third party concerning how to run my OWN SCHOOL !!.

Her mother sighed weakly, their talks always ended like this.

One day something unusual happened —Principal Carter announced that she'd be away for a week for a leadership conference. The moment the announcement was made, ripples of excitement swept throughout the school. The hallways and classrooms were filled with whispers, No Carter for a week ?? Unbelievable !!!. It felt like the shackles holding the school had been lifted.

It started innocently enough, on the first day a group of seniors brought speakers and placed them on the hallways and blasted trending pop songs. At first, the students didn't know what to do , they all stood still staring at each other till one student started moving his body displaying some moves he saw on tiktok soon after the entire school joined in including the staffs.

“Everybody needs a break every now and then ”, said one of the teachers shaking her head to the rhythm of the song.

“I agree with you, besides this is a one time opportunity “, the second teacher replied.

The second, third, fourth and fifth day passed. On the sixth day,a wave of panic crept in the principal was going to be back on Monday, the school broke into utter chaos. The students began cleaning, the teachers joined in too, they cleared the pool removing any trace of the party they had the previous day . They cleaned the cafeteria, classrooms and the entire school.

By the time Monday rolled around, the school looked as pristine as ever. Principal Carter returned, unaware of the wild week her students had, she walked through the halls, her sharp eyes looking out any signs of mischief, but everything was in place exactly how she left it.

As she settled down in her office, she noticed a small sticky note on her desk. It read … “While the cat was away, the mice did play…… but don't stress about it, we cleaned up.

She smiled and shook her head, she decided to lift and change some of her rules to allow students have fun but still maintain orderliness in the school.
