Hi Hivers, Before i get on with my introduction, i will like to express how happy i am to be here on this platform, to put my thoughts into writing and to make new friends. My name is Erinle Damilare also know as Facehill. Facehill is a name i have struggled but learn to live with.
I graduated from Lagos State polytechnic Nigeria, with a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Insurance. Quite unfortunate People are really finding it difficult to accept Insurance in Nigeria but that will be a story for another day.
While in school, i contested for the post of the faculty president which i won. Combining academics and politics was really demanding because the amount of pressure on me was way off the chart but i had no choice as it really affected my grades in school.
I proceeded for my one year compulsory service scheme called NATIONAL YOUTH SERVICE CORPS (NYSC) in the South western part of the country (OYO STATE) Nigeria. My service at Oyo state happens to be one of the best decision i made that year because i had to experience the culture, tradition and ways of life of the people of Oyo state which my mum never told me about even when she is from the state.
As part of my service to the state, we visited a river called Agodi river. This river is located at the center of the town which was loaded with different types of fish but it was a taboo to eat any fish from the river. I also engaged in lots of voluntary jobs like the WHO camping for chicken pox and measles, Presiding over the General election held in the country and lots more.
I was having a mixed feeling here, but still dedicated the achievement to my dad whom i lost 19years ago. It was a hard pill to swallow but eventually got over it. Although, i had some cases where i wished he was still alive, i guess fatherly role cannot be overemphasized.
I currently work as a temporary staff in a bank (Reconciliation officer) hoping to get a better offer and also go into full time writing. I am young, vibrant, always ready to learn and trying new things. I love to inspire people nd i love to impact positively to my surroundings, this explains my flair for ploitics.
Celebrated my birthday with my colleagues. It was a surprise party. I was so shy but happy because it actually showed i was loved by my colleagues and friends. This was the best birthday i ever celebrated.
Shout out to @babyfash for introducing me to this wonderful platform (Hive). I am optimistic about meeting new people whom i can learn from and can inspire me to go extra mile in achieving a milestone. I am very much new as I'm open to corrections.
