Selfless Generosity

A couple of days ago, I introduced to the members of my new community, FreeCompliments, a proposition for how we can increase engagement within the community as it grows. One of the ideas involved providing Ecency Boosts for those individuals whose posts included @hive-140084 (the FreeCompliments community account) as a post beneficiary. To my pleasant surprise, multiple people contributed Ecency points to the account, including @melinda010100, @metzli, @deraaa, and @blacardi. Additionally, @bambukah delegated some HP (on top of @wesphilbin’s initial contribution 1 couple of months ago).

However, one offer in particular stood out to me. Being a small fish in a big pond myself, another small fish (in terms of Hive Power, but not of soul) attempted an act of generosity befitting of a truly selfless individual. Although I am neither Christian nor religious, it was an act that reminded me of “The Widow’s Offering” story that is mentioned in the Bible, one with which I am familiar through outside contexts and references. It is an example of virtue at its finest.

This act came about due to errors which have been on the Ecency frontend for the past couple of days. An attempt by this individual to donate Ecency points to the FC account was unsuccessful, and they retried a few times. I can confirm this to be an actual issue, as I had the same situation when I tried to send Ecency points over to @hive-140084, and was subsequently met with a delay of several hours before the transaction was successfully completed. However, I also noted that multiple attempts at sending ultimately resulted in multiple successful transfers. As such, this individual would have sent a few times their intended transfer.

As I pointed out this occurrence, this kind, generous individual did not pay mind, and instead declined the prospect of having the excessively donated Ecency points returned. Indeed, this person wanted all sent Ecency points to be kept in the name of the FC community.

The Culprit of Generosity: @ndk.focus

@ndk.focus, this post is to honor your selfless donation, giving what little you have in the name of something that you believe in, with no expectation of return. Ecency should be proud to have a person like this among them. I implore the community to shower them with the compliments they most certainly deserve.

Oh my, you make me blush. It's too much, really. Very kind, thank you. There's no need to go to such lengths! I didn't [attempt] to donate expecting anything in return :]

So have the points came through on your end now? 'Cause they're still showing in my wallet 🤔

I just tried again...

Might have to see if one of the kind folks from @ecency can spare a moment to have a look?

Everything worked! Going to forward these straight to the community account. Appreciate it once again. You deserve the recognition. 😊

Okay, it's worked now. Not sure what did it but this time it's happened. Cool!

please help me develop my creativity 🙏🎨

Creativity cannot be taught, only developed. It looks like you already have some burgeoning painting skills, so you've got a fantastic start. Keep painting!

This all said, I once read about a technique used by Salvador Dali to find ideas. I'd make sure to develop a very rigid painting technique first, however, as his technical knowledge is what allowed him to paint his fantasies so well.

You've got this, svetkaa! Keep me updated on your posts, and feel free to drop them in the FreeCompliments Community as well. If you place hive-140084 as a 50% beneficiary, I'll use that account to get you a big vote on your posts by Boosting them, not mention give you votes and compliments on your progress for encouragement. 😊

I'll also give you some resource credits so that you can post some more.

thank you for your support❤️❤️

Gladly! If you need help with any of this, reach out in the Ecency Discord and I'll give you step-by-step instructions. I can even do it here, but it would be more time efficient on Discord.

thank you very much ❤️🥰

Very glad to do so! I think it would be very neat if you're the FreeCompliments' first designated artist. 😁

Same here in a different way that we don't really understand and have mentionned already. we had an account with @steemit we had 90 euros left for 4 years, we got back to @steemit and discovered @ecency which is an amazing decentralized platform with @leofinance @peakd and others even if our posts were hidden without reason. But the point is today on steemworld it says we have 101USD plus the tokens but if we go to @hivetasks it says we have 278 USD plus the tokens and on the tokens on @hivetasks it says 46 USD for 480 @leos while on @leofinance these 480 @leos equal approx 22 usd can this be taken into consideration? thanks both to @freecompliment and @ndk.focus to bring the opportunity to solve this issue.

This isn't really an issue that we solve... ndk.focus and I are just regular users like you are, and I happen to be a far newer user than you as well (I've been here 3 months, long after the fork). 😅

Maybe search around for some help from the developers on Leofinance and Ecency? They might be able to help out more. Best of luck to you, and thanks for finding us here (and stick around as much as you'd like!). 😊

Thanks for your answer @freecompliments we'll try @reverio to see if we can get an answer, and yes, @leofinance should with @leothreads give us answers and @ecency we did, Best+!

I'm not familiar with hivetasks but the different estimated values could come from each account or platform taking price data from different sources, or multiple sources and averaging them... the actual value of a token is realised only when it's sold.

Thank you very much @ndk.focus it makes sense, but for an equal sum of a token 100% more seems high! Best+!
