RE: Day 11 - Advent Calendar 2023, Win prize everyday! 🎄🎁

in Ecencylast year

As a tropical country, we don't usually get snow.

Only in the Venezuelan Andes region does snowfall at one time of the year.

In the capital, Caracas, there is no snow, but the cold is present and gets down to the bones.

In Caracas, we have a wonderful mountain called Cerro Avila. In mid-November, an extremely cold breeze descends from that mountain, which we call Pacheco.

The name comes from the fact that many years ago there was a man named Pacheco, a flower grower who lived in a small town located on the mountain.

He used to go down to Caracas just when the cold started to get intense, in November, to sell his flowers and he became very famous for it. People began to associate the arrival of the flower seller with the coldest season, from November to January.

Merry Christmas!
