The engine oil the dipstick look like it is over the maximum level (the first hole from the bottom indicate low level and the second hole above indicate a maximum oil level). It is because oil drips when I taking the image.
Today, I want to share my weekly routine checking my 2013 Suzuki APV engine oil. It’s old and clocked 453,892 kilometers odometer! Still this van still runs smoothly as when I first drive it. And, I think that my weekly maintenance habits have something to do with it.
Why I Check My Engine Oil Weekly
Some people asking me in curiosity, why I check my Van engine oil and other fluid almost every week. Well, engine oil is the lifeblood of the vehicle. It keeps the car running, prevents overheating and keep it last longer.
Over a period of time, engine oil levels drop due to normal consumption and for older vehicle it may cause by a tiny leak. And if the engine oil drop below the acceptable level (on dipstick), a potential engine damage is inevitable.
Since my 2013 Suzuki APV has been with me for more than 10 years and clocked serious number on its odometer. To stay it on good running condition, checking the its engine oil and other fluid weekly gives me peace of mind. I also catch engine issues early before it surface and cause a headache. Checking my engine oil is like a weekly meet and greet with an old friend.
What engine Oil I Used for my 2013 Suzuki APV?
I used what is prescribe on the owners manual. I only used a fully synthetic gasoline engine oil. Any 5W30 / 5w40 gasoline engine oil will do, but for my personal choice of oil. I prefer pertua motor oil, shell engine oil, AC Delco, and Petron oil.
That's a great idea! It's important that you keep an eye on this. I as well frequently check the engine oil level in my car and add it every few weeks or so. It's important for the car overall!
Yes, if the vehicle performance seems poor or gas consumption seems high, changing oil usually a solution. I don't know, its like a restarting a computer when encountered a glitch.
