Christmas in El Salvador is quite different than in Poland or in Canada.
El Salvadorian Christmas is more like a party and celebration with family.

Because the whole December is a vacation month, since the schools are out, the whole month is pretty much about vacation, dancing, celebrating,travelling, going to the beaches, and fireworks, which you hear throughout the whole month until the New Year. This is what makes December probably the most busy and loud month of the year, so if you are not comfortable with a lot of noise, then December is probably not a good month to visit El Salvador.

We spent our Christmas Eve in Ahuachapan with my husbands aunty and family. We had turkey, rice, potato salad etc, which was very delicious and then we had some cake.

We also did some fireworks/firecrackers outside on the street, which is very, very popular here. Throughout the whole night, you hear fireworks everywhere, but it doesn't really get super loud, till midnight, when everyone does the fireworks and then still continues through the night.

The beaches get really packed with families, who go and stay for a few days at the beach, or families who just go to the beach for a day. This is when the beaches of El Salvador are really busy; Christmas and Easter time.

But the main thing for Christmas is spending time with family, food and fireworks.
