Traditional Children's Games Enggrang Amid the Rise of Online Games

The ever-growing flow of information and technology is something to be grateful for because this progress can have a positive impact on a person's way of thinking and behaving in their life. Then what about the way a child thinks and behaves with this progress? Will online games be able to have a positive impact on the way a child thinks and behaves?

The answer to the question above really depends on the intensity of use of online gaming media and parental control. All parents certainly hope that their children will grow up to be children who have the ability to think positively and behave well. If this is what we want then we must have good control over the use of online game media used by our children through the gadgets they use.

The use of online game media cannot be prevented by prohibiting our children from using online game media attached to the gadgets they use. But we should be able to reduce their intensity in using online gaming media, namely the gadgets or cellphones they usually use. One way to reduce the intensity of their playing games is to let them play using traditional children's play equipment.

One of the traditional children's game media that I want to introduce is Enggrang. Enggrang is a traditional playing tool made from a bamboo stick. The stilts consist of a pair of sticks that are supported by them for walking. The Ergrang game will train self-confidence, train children to focus and balance and be entertaining.

The traditional children's game enggrang comes from Java. This game has been around for a long time. Ergrang can be used as a means of attraction and entertainment. But technological advances are increasingly eroding traditional children's games such as Enggrang. Below are some photos of the activities of children at our school who are playing Ergrang when they take a break during study time.
