I was responding to RevolverOcelot something along those lines, so I'm going to quote myself (even if that sounds a bit lacking in humility (personal smile)):

I think that technological changes inevitably bring about social changes (including work, family, government, and other fields). We already have historical cases such as the Industrial Revolution in the 18th century, or the Technological Revolution of the mid-20th century.
Irremediably, changes cause labor markets to no longer be the same. I suppose that when AI technology is sufficiently mature, it will push for changes that will not be to the liking of all of us. But in this world of ours, change is the only constant and certain thing.

Some changes brought about by the new technologies of the centuries I mention reduced jobs in some areas, but created other labor markets. Technological changes also allowed for advances in medicine, construction, education, and other fields; which in the long run resulted in benefits for more people.

It's hard and difficult to see the 'silver lining' when change hits, and we're still trying to deal with the changes themselves (as most humans I know don't like change that much), but it's a process that doesn't stop.
