Mindfulness in daily life

Just a needed break, or not?

Some days, life gives you a break. At least, that is what I thought when I woke up this morning. A free day, no rehabilitation, no rushing out the door. Just me, my thoughts, and the quiet.

The sweet intervention

Yesterday evening, I had an intervention. Not the dramatic, staged kind you see on TV, but one from a friend who knew exactly what I needed. A conversation, a reality check, a reminder that I do not have to carry everything alone. If you have followed my journey, you know the past weeks, actually, the past years, have not been easy. And sometimes, you do not realize how much weight you are carrying until someone helps you set it down for a moment.

So today, I was ready for calm. For stillness. For a moment to just exist.

So it begins, somehow

Then, I tripped over my son’s backpack.

There it was, lurking beneath the stairs, waiting to sabotage my peaceful morning. And just like that, I found myself back in the car, delivering the forgotten backpack to school. But as I drove, I noticed the beauty of the morning. The golden sunlight, the promise of warmer days creeping into the air. The wind has been a bit of a nuisance lately, but still, the changing season is undeniable. It is in the way the light hits, the way the air smells different. Even in the middle of life’s little inconveniences, there is something to appreciate.

Back home, I settled into the small rituals that keep me grounded. A cup of coffee, a few chores, some time curating. There is something soothing about simple tasks, the way they bring rhythm to a day, a sense of purpose to the hours.

The plans

Later, I will try to clean the windows. The sandy storms have blurred my view of the world outside, and while it is a small thing, clearing them feels symbolic. Like making space to see life more clearly. I will check in on my chickens, give them the care they deserve, and start filling my garden boxes with sand, preparing for the herbs that will eventually grow there. Little things, but they matter.

And as I move through these simple moments, I realize how much this community has carried me in the past weeks. Through the tough times, through the heavy days. There is something powerful in knowing that people see you, hear you, and stand with you, even from a distance. That is what I love about Ecency. The feeling that you are not alone.

Life is rarely what we plan, but there is something grounding in the small, everyday moments. The cup of coffee, the sunlight, the kindness of a friend, even the forgotten backpack that sends you on an unexpected detour. It all matters. It all holds you together.

And for that, I am grateful.

My delightful Tuesday helper washed my windows yesterday. It does make a difference in the view of the world!

Yes it does, stupid enough 😂

The joy of small pleasures makes the difference and that everything matters. There is some virtue in the disposition of the soul to enjoy simple things.
Taking a moment to breathe, contemplating, loving the environment makes us connect with us and then with the environment. Thus the spirit is predisposed to continue

Hugs of light!!!!

Sometimes life could be challenging and heavy, a soothing word from a friend can lighten it. Gratitude is a virtue.

It certainly is, thanks for the loving words

Always my pleasure.

That is what I love about Ecency. The feeling that you are not alone.

I am glad you are enjoying your time on Ecency.

Thank you, me as well

I don't know if each of us chose this life experience ourselves. But I know that many of us can choose our path in this world. And few of us - to realize the greatness of each moment of our life, even a very simple moment.

You can if you want to of course, it's a way of living. Not everyone's way has to be the same of course

Hive, sessions, and simple, daily tasks are how I fill most of my days, and I appreciate their grounding and soothing effect too, very much. There is, indeed, always something to appreciate. I'm glad that you had a quieter day, Nathalie! 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙
