Handing Over a Hedgehog .:. WorkerBee PH-Pool Week 210

in Ecency4 days ago

We humans are weird creatures... When I was a kid, the first lesson from my Physics teacher was that people always tend to go where the resistance is the lowest... Same as a current... Actually, that's how he explained to us how current works... Which is true... When we see that we don't have to push hard, we tend to work the bare minimum, just to reach our "daily quotes"... Why would we do more?

The other thing that I didn't understand (or better said didn't think about) when I was younger is about responsibility... To get a higher wage, it's not important what school you finish, how old are you, or how much experience you have, but rather how much RESPONSIBILITY you take in the company where you work... I learned that lesson in a harder way as I started my company very early and then I realized that as an owner, I have a huge responsibility toward my clients, business partners, and my employees...

Liotes Divider Blue.png

Then the Internet happened... A lot of online jobs were created, social media networks took over TV time, and everyone enjoyed the "new freedom"... The anonymity and "hiding" behind the keyboard, no taking any responsibility for their words or work... It was chaos, but it is still pretty chaotic when you see adult people arguing stupid things on Twitter... lol...

The turn was on the companies to push responsibility from them to customers and clients... Today, while I was wasting my time on FB 😃, I saw this photo...

spinning.jpg
Source: Facebook.com

That's just one example of the "cancer" of the modern society... Wherever I turn, I can notice people spinning stories... It wasn't me, it was him... It is not my fault, my customers are irresponsible and they did it... I remember a documentary that I watched recently there was a talk about glass recycling, and as I was living by a big brewery, it got my attention... I still remember the sound of beer bottles from the factory where they would WASH them and REUSE... And then some guy "invented" how that is a bad idea as a lot of water is used, and how it's better to recycle glass...

Long story short, in Spain, there are numerous deposits of used (recycled) glass, that are just growing and growing... Nobody wants to buy it as it is more expensive than a new glass... The recycling costs are much bigger... Some wineries in Spain returned to reusing old bottles as it is more environmentally friendly and more responsible...

Liotes Divider Blue.png

All that reminded me of another story from my "early days"... A long time ago, I was involved in one of the MLM (multi-level marketing) jobs (probably Ponzi.. lol), and there was one interesting book about sales that I read... It talked about converting your "negative" potential client into a positive, and it was called something like "handing over a hedgehog" to another person... It is not the same as today's story, but isn't exactly what big corporations (and politicians, banks) are doing... They create a PROBLEM and then they present it as YOUR PROBLEM and call you responsible for IT!

It's not even the typical spin, I create a problem, and then I give you a solution that you pay for... It's I create a problem, take your money, and you deal with it!! Unfortunately, there are more and more "Masters of Spinning", and people are less interested in thinking but rather react emotionally, arguing and discussing on social media... Bread and circuses...

Let's see the WorkerBee Pool numbers for this week...

We were unlucky this week as we mined only 90 BEE tokens in total!!!...

This week we didn't have new delegators, but we did get more delegations from our old members... Thanks guys! Appreciate your support!

The price of the WORKERBEE tokens went a bit up, so our APR doesn't look nice when it's calculated by the current price...

This POOL doesn't have fees and you get up to 20% MORE by delegating to it!

What about the bonus tokens?

It looks like a lot of things are happening in the Splinterlands game... The main tokens in the game, DEC and SPS are slowly creeping up, so who knows where they can go... As long as it didn't drop sharply, we are good... 😃 Recently, I haven't had too much time to play the game, but I do enjoy Brawls and I have participated in almost every single on from their very beginning... It's always great to see guild members fighting together for the best possible result... Are you playing Splinterlands?

There will be distributed 330 SPS tokens to the delegators of the pool as a bonus reward today!

Screenshot from 2025-02-17 19-11-54.png

As always, in the end, let's give the exact numbers for this week... 90 BEE tokens and 330 SPS tokens will be distributed as a bonus... The APR (without the bonus) was 5.552%, and when we added the bonus it went up to 6.794%!

I have calculated the ROI approximately with medium prices for all tokens at the moment of creating this post... So, those numbers are valid if you bought WB and sold BEE tokens at the middle HiveEngine price...

Do you want to sponsor the PH-Pool with your tokens, receive a short SPONSORED segment in this post, and raise awareness about your front-end or dApp? Please let me know in the comment section, or contact me through Discord or Twitter and we will find the best solution for both parties...

Liotes Divider Blue.png

If you want to join the WorkerBee PH-Pool, the only thing that you have to do is to STAKE tokens to YOUR account and DELEGATE your staked WORKERBEE tokens to THIS account (@ph1102)! Every week you will get your portion of mined BEE tokens and BONUS rewards!

.:. DO NOT STAKE TOKENS TO MY ACCOUNT!!! Just DELEGATE! .:.

Greetings.

To get a higher wage, it's not important what school you finish, how old are you, or how much experience you have, but rather how much RESPONSIBILITY you take in the company where you work

Lovely and precious words. Learning to accept responsibilities, or taking responsibility, is essential for growth.

I have a huge responsibility toward my clients, business partners, and my employees..

I hope and pray you manage these significant duties with ease.

A long time ago, I was involved in one of the MLM (multi-level marketing) jobs (probably Ponzi.. lol),

My older brother invested time and money in multi-level marketing but did not receive the benefits that the company promised. The company, which was formerly known as Destiny 2000 Ltd., was shut down in our nation for engaging in fraudulent activities, including money laundering and customer theft. It was a waste of precious time, trust, and money. It is difficult to recover when anyone encounters this tricky situation.

Most MLMs are Ponzis, and I lost money in them too... It was like 25 years ago, but the truth is, I did learn things from that... Like that saying, or some good practices that I used later in my life... And of course, learning from mistakes is the most valuable lesson!

How situations are twisted nowadays to favour one party over another is amusing to observe, imo. I think there's an element of truth in some of these viral or popular memes on social media but the underlying issue is people are not keen on solving problems nowadays. They'll rather laugh and then forget about it.

Unfortunately, that's true... People just laugh, and open another meme... No deep thinking about it...

I think I remember how Samsung and iPhone refused to put charger in the phones saying they're protecting the earth from global warming. Meanwhile they still go ahead to produce these chargers externally and asks people to buy them separately. Businesses nowadays in the modern era don't care about the customer.
The meme is really funny and a sad representation of what our reality is.

Meanwhile they still go ahead to produce these chargers externally and asks people to buy them separately.

Hahahaah... True! The same thing happened with plastic bags in Europe... They "forbid" stores to give them away for free, and now we have to pay for it... lol... BUt, the effect is still the same... Or even worse... 😃 I mean, you as a customer will bring your bag (maybe), if not, you will pay 5x the price... and those who produce them will still be in a profit... 🤣

The meme is really funny and a sad representation of what our reality is.

Yeah... It's funny, because it's true... And it's sad, because we did get illnesses that didn't exist before the "plastic era"

It's interesting to hear that recycled bottles are more expensive than new ones. But it makes sense when you take into consideration costs of collecting them and storing them. Haven't thought about it until I read it from you.

Yeah, there are some crazy examples that we heard about, but didn't pay attention to... It's great to see other examples here in the comment section! 😃

I think you are completely right about the 'don't think mentality' I have my business for 20 years now, and it works because of taking responsability. And it makes you stand out in the crowd. Thanks for the technical advice, that's always great to read for me.

I have my business for 20 years now, and it works because of taking responsability. And it makes you stand out in the crowd.

Congratulations on running your biz for 20 years! That's not an easy task!
It makes you stand out in the crowd as many would "like to" run a business, but not many would like to take that risk! It's much better to sit on the sofa and watch TV than thinking about over and over how to improve your business... 😃

Thanks for checking out the post! 🙏

That depends on the work, where i work, lot of responsibility don't mean better wage, most of the time means just eat more crap than others so one don't bother really...

As for glass, for water here restaurants gets the same bottles refilled and packed, not sure about recycling tough

most of the time means just eat more crap than others so one don't bother really...

Hahahaha... that made me laugh... 😂 Do you work in a restaurant? 🤣

As for glass, for water here restaurants gets the same bottles refilled and packed, not sure about recycling tough

That's a good way of doing things... Reusing is always better than recycling...

No I work as a dev and my colleagues often say "I would rather eat a shit" 🤣

Supermarkets also do this with bottles, you are charged like 15 cent per bottle and get that back when you bring them back the bottle empty

A painful truth, about responsibilities, and turning, and...
You can't even imagine how often you can hear me say bread and circusses :-D

Hehehe... I knew that saying in many languages... The fact that exists in so many different languages, proves how true it is... :)

Pan y circo... 😃

Pan y circo :-) That sounds nice as well :-)
In Dutch it is “Brood en spelen”, translates more as “bread and games”, but indeed, it certainly does point to a truth, and once you know, you see it being played out the whole time…

Recycling glass is probably the most bizarre of the environment hype. I mean, it's made from sand. Reusing makes so much sense.

Here in Germany they have gone full retard, now we have 4+ bins per house, must spend hours sorting and cleaning rubbish. Some plastic bottles must be brought back to supermarkets so the Grifters selling the machines can make money. It's out of control.

I mean, it's made from sand. Reusing makes so much sense.

That reminded me of what I saw a few days ago... There was a shortage of saline solution in Croatia... And the commentator was mocking about how complicated is to create it... lol... Btw. they have sea too... 😃

It's very similar in Spain, except that people don't get anything for pet bottles, but voluntarily drop them in the "plastic container"... Anyways, ridiculous... I agree... 😃

We are really creating some serious environment threat and I guess either we will evolve or will become seriously ill to continue our lineage.

SPS are very welcome.

The irony is that nobody talks about the fact of how much plastic humans have inside them and the connection with some "modern" illnesses that didn't exist in the past (who would say that when we didn't have plastic!)

I love everything that inspires you to write, what you see on facebook and silly twitter squabbles, but you always include part of your life experience. You already know I admire you, but I don't know if you know that I always learn something when I read you. I had a lot of work these days, and I took on a lot of responsibility, even my wife, so when you talk about people doing the minimum and I see it in my environment it really makes me reflect. Everyone gets what they deserve brother, and in you, my good SerbioEspañoles friends I see an example for me. Hugs bro! 🙏

I had a lot of work these days, and I took on a lot of responsibility, even my wife, so when you talk about people doing the minimum and I see it in my environment it really makes me reflect.

There is nothing wrong with being more effective and doing the job responsibly... The problem is when we stop thinking and do stupid things that others told us to do... Sometimes I hate myself when I criticize many things, but on the other side, without critical thinking, we are doomed...

Thanks a lot for your kind words... Happy to hear that you find useful things in my posts! 🙏 💜

Blame game that is what happened to me on my current job. Context I'm working on gaming company. Started as a player then working for them, I'm passionate about the game I look out for players. I have the responsibility to be truthful with players but the company doesn't want to do that and they breach the contract. We reach a tipping point last night because it's just a waste of time. Idk what's gonna happen next to them. I hope it's not another Concord or Assassins Creed Shadow that burns to the ground before lunch.

While I was reading your comment, I reflected on my current thinking regarding HIVE and some of the DHF proposals out there... I have to be truthful to myself first, and if I don't like something, voting for it just because someone ASKED me, or pushed me to do is completely irresponsible... Or, even worse, to be bribed to vote for something that is bad for me, and the community! Just to get short-term gains... That sucks, and that happens a lot...

Similar to your experience... Instead of helping out players, and accepting ideas, your company decided to go oppositely... I suppose chasing the profits...

The lack of a long-term vision is killing the society...

Things change over time and we have no choice but to adapt. The recycling problems are not going to go away. I think that companies will try to go with the cheaper option and we don't realize how that affects the environment until later on.

Thanks for running the pool and for the BEE/SPS tokens.

The recycling problems are not going to go away. I think that companies will try to go with the cheaper option and we don't realize how that affects the environment until later on.

Well, going into the cheaper option is another story... Which also usually has a bad ending for customers...
And regarding effects, that's always the same... we look into the short-term future...

I think it is also about our characteristic which tends to being lazy.

Yeah... that's our human nature... Not everyone is lazy, but almost everyone seeks to be more "effective", which isn't that bad...

Interesting sharing! Thanks for the update and tokens!

It is a fact that in today's time we are seeing that people are not working hard and only get two meals a day, so they spend the rest of the day like this, so we will not be successful.

Another Good Week
