Despite not creating the announcement post for the show, we did manage to run one last HumpDay (pardon, Wednesday🙂)... I had a bad migraine on Tuesday and I was unable to create the announcement post, but in the end, we had a nice turnout and a very deep discussion on different topics! As it was the last Wednesday of the month, we had the "freestyle" version of the #HHHLIVE show, where the participants picked up the topic... As you can see from the title, we had a few big ones!
Created in Canva.com
It is turning into a tradition that we begin the show with a smaller audience, and get up the steam as time passes by... We were only 4 in the first minutes, but shortly, when others joined, we were around 10 participants! Not bad for a show without the announcement post! Btw. there is no recording for this one, so if you want to participate in the live discussion, you will have to join us the next time!
At the beginning of the show, I had small issues with my microphone as I changed the setup this time... Using my Bluetooth earbuds was more convenient for this "relaxed" format of the show, but I forgot to change my microphone to a desktop mic... Luckily, someone spotted the voice difference and the problem was solved! As a topic-breaker, I asked others how they liked the last show, where we had a special guest as it was in an "interview" format... I was pleased to hear that people liked it which means that we should do them more often! If you would like to have someone special as a guest (or you want to be a special guest!), please let me know in the comment section...
As we were talking about the last show, we dived into the talk about the Polish community, and some HiveFest memories, where @jza mentioned a brewing company (from Poland) that was presenting at HiveFest... And I have no idea about who he was talking about... If you know, I would like to learn about it!
The next huge topic was ValuePlan... As it is a very huge one, we were jumping on and off talking about it... People shared their views, good and bad things... What could be improved, and similar... There were shared a few links during the show, so if you are interested in that topic, you can check them out too...
https://ecency.com/hive-139531/@dalz/hive-tokenomics-improvement-proposal-for-the-next-hardfork
https://ecency.com/life/@valued-customer/fixing-valueplan
As I said, we were moving through topics back and forth, but sharing some great information during that time... For example, @jza shared that @starkerz did a presentation in El Salvador recently, promoting HIVE to Bitcoiners... It's hard to sell something to BTC Maxis, but it was a good experience as HIVE could give some value as a storage blockchain!
I have no idea how we went back to funding apps and how to incentivize people to be more responsible with received funds from DHF, or ValuePlan... It is obvious that more reports about spending and transparency are needed... But on the other side, the biggest incentive should be to do things that will benefit the chain and the HIVE token... In the end, most of us are HivePower holders and we want the best for the token... I suppose that receiving funds as a "gift" and earning money by work are two different things... Those who earn money with their work, appreciate it more and act more responsibly...
That was probably another door that opened a new discussion about funding apps and projects... Does it make sense to fund certain apps forever, or it would be better to fund new apps and help them out in developing new ideas... The "hot potato" was thrown at @achim03 who was on the mic to share his opinion about this... How to make Hive frontends self-sustainable? Do we have self-sustainable apps on HIVE?
Then we dived into some of the games on HIVE... Splinterlands was a perfect example of a self-sustainable game for a long time, but in the end, they had to be "saved" by the DHF... On the other side, we have some other games, such as GolemOverlord which is doing a great job, or @risingstargame which works great doing its own thing! Tokens are doing great compared with some others, and we have to mention that the "crypto" games sustainability isn't only an issue on HIVE, but other chains too!
Another big topic was Hive-Engine tokens, how to manage tokens, how H-E works, what are the pros and cons of tokens on it... As @achim03 and I have some experience regarding that, we shared our way of doing things with our tokens, LEN and LENM, that we are running on the Hive-Engine, for our @liotes project...
We had a talk about token liquidity, printing/minting tokens, burning tokens... About the balance around liquidity, scalability talk, and of course, a business plan that every token owner should have before launching one!
At the end of the show, we had another big topic... Content value! How to measure it, and more importantly, how to monetize the content... There were some comments on how HIVE content is garbage and useless, how it doesn't have value at all... I strongly disagree with that... Do you think that FB or IG content is more valuable? Or endless discussion on X without any point or conclusion? I don't think so... HIVE has a problem with monetizing the content and we have to find the solution for that... Maybe if we find it, it could be a turning point in making the HIVE economy much stronger than it is.
Peakd's experiment with ads is a first step that will bring some "feedback" data... Maybe invest more work in SEO of HIVE frontends? What do you think? How can we monetize our content?
We had 10 people in the show (including myself). I would like to thank, @achim03, @duskobgd, @foxkoit, @jza, @melinda010100, @mypathtofire, @palomap3, @quekery, and @sacra97! Thanks everyone for participating!!!
Thank you, guys and girls, once again! As a sign of appreciation, I will send some LEN tokens to all participants of the live show! You can pair them with LENM tokens, add liquidity to the diesel pool, and earn rewards! If you want to learn more about the project behind it, check out the @liotes account or visit the Liotes website... Of course, if you are not interested in it, you can sell tokens on the Hive-Engine market...
To encourage more people to come on the mic, I have sent an additional 100 Ecency POINTS to people who shared their thoughts in voice with us (this time we had 3 participants in voice)! So POINTS are going to @jza and @achim03!
Special thanks goes to @melinda010100 and @good-karma for providing the space for the event!
Thank you for your time,

Since my start at Hive, there has been talk everywhere about original content, personal photos, without AI.
Today on Peakd I see a new AI Image Generation option, which we can use for a small amount of HBD. What do you think about that?
PeakD writes that "You own the rights to any image you generate.
Images can be used for personal or commercial purposes".
So it is completely okay to post and earn money with the generated images.
Yesterday I tried it:
I tried the AI-Powered Image Generation on PeakD for the first time (2024.11.29).
But maybe it is better to use free alternatives.
Although it is recommended to check the terms of service of each service.
I will try the first time when I don't have my own photo 😀
I'm not fond of AI-generated content in any way, but it is imminent... I think that the main complaint about AI stuff was to present it as your OWN content... So, if you clearly state that your image is AI-generated, or part of your post, you should be fine...
Speaking of games, @cryptoshots.nft has web3 games Smash Kart, Chess, Poker and PvP. I enjoy playing these games to refresh my brain 😉
Speaking of not mentioning Cryptoshots... That's a good reason to spread the word about it, isn't it? Would you like to be a guest in one of the next #HHHLive shows and talk about the games that you are developing?
It is a voice-only show, held in the Ecency discord...
We would be happy to have you as a special guest!
Oh, those ones we forgot to mention in the show! Thanks for sharing!
Sorry in the name of all participants... 😃 It was an open discussion, so I will not take responsibility for other's acts... 😃
😝
In fact, I need some knowledge about what to do for my HIVE Engine tokens as I have never traded them since registered on this blochain. Well, they have never turned into a big impact, but I think converting some of them to HIVE and then powering up would be reasonable.
As many of the H-E tokens failed, maybe you didn't choose wrong not to interact with them at all... You spared some money... On the other side, there are some good projects that did well... Thanks to some, I was able to power up more HIVE than I would do...
Leo, Waivio, Cent, Pob
Gaming wise HIVE has a lot happening, I got my eyes on Splinterlands, Holozing, Golem Overlord, Rising star & Immortal creed. And whatever else might pop up.
I didn't try Immortal Creed... Is it a working game, or it is still in development? Thanks for sharing!
It is a working game, but the gameplay could use a lot of improvements. I play it right now, because they give really good rewards for building up the card levels.
Interesting... If there is a ref. link, you can share it here!
There is 😁

It was a very enjoyable show. I made a waves post, but also discovered the waves engine is a bit buggy at the moment and the posts are behaving erratically.
I'm glad the show turned out to be so vibrant despite the lack of preparedness.

@ph1102, @jza(1/10) sent you LUV. | tools | discord | community | HiveWiki | <>< daily
I had issues with Waves on the desktop, but I think @melinda010100 mentioned that Waves will get a separate part for the desktop and it should solve those issues... I know that you do a lot of things on the mobile phone, so if you had issues there, maybe you could post them in the support channel on Discord... I know that they are following that channel and listening to feedback...
It was a great show! Thanks for raising these interesting topics and for taking part in the show!
I think it's hard when the different front-ends all fight for the same SEO positions and we can have the same text being on different front ends. I think it's just hard. I think all of them need to be creative to attract users.
I 100% agree... It is hard and nobody has the magic answer on how to do it... We should have more discussions about it, to be more creative (like you said), and to find the solution acceptable for everyone, but beneficial for Hive!
Maybe it's a little too optimistic.. But I feel that people will eventually find out about Hive and realise how interesting this place is. Just like how it takes so many years for some people to realise that Bitcoin is not going to burst and go to zero overnight. In the mean time, we continue to accumulate hehe!
Sometimes, as anyone else, I have doubts in HIVE... especially when we have some big drama, or some big account leaves the platform, but then, I remind myself that happens everywhere, not just on HIVE... In general, HIVE has very good foundations and it survived 2 heavy bear markets, development is here (a bit slow, but people are doing stuff), so we still have good chances compared with others...
Because of all that, your comparison with Bitcoin is very much valid! It was ignored, nobody cared, but it just was there, doing block by block...
My 5 cents:
What do I mean? If you are asking, you had a good debate and interesting questions. Still, monetizing the content generated on Hive is vital to those who develop it. On other web2 social networks, it is not so important to those who create the content, at least not to the average user, because that is not what they are there for. This may be something that we should think about or that all of us who have accounts on other networks should highlight. @lordbutterfly has some ideas on how we should...
For advertising or SEO, Web3 content is less well positioned (Hive content) because it has more front-ends to access the same content. So, the approach to SEO has to be different.
You just need to create motivation for creating promotional content about Hive and flood Web2.
Will upvoting those that do it motivate others? Most definitely not. That has never worked since those that are happy to post for the rewards they get, additional work and for many stepping out of their comfort zone is a no go. And we dont need a few for some short term initiative, we need everybody.
So you need motivation in a different manner. Curators need to set expectations for their votes. They do that by restricting them to a certain amount and asking for proof of promo. That is what we are doing with Vibes and its working very well.
Anyone that thinks nice words and "les go community" will work is deluding themselves. We have thousands of people and basically no one is doing anything because they dont need to.
We need to establish system where they will do so.
I agree with that, of course. But if it had been easy, then it would have been done already. That is not the case. This profiling of your music is OK.
Inleo is also doing some activities. Liotes has also started some activities, both commercially and in terms of finance.
Another such potential is in photographs, let's say (my opinion). There are many excellent photographers on Hive. But, of course, there has to be someone who will run it regularly like you have Vibes. But where is he?
And there is a lot of examples...
Why do you think it is important here, and it's not important there? I heard a lot of times that the "guilty party" is always Hivians who create content... How they don't care about it, how it's rubbish and similar... Web2 is full of garbage posts, but the platforms still succeed in monetizing that... The point of discussion was to look at things on the other side... How could our frontends adapt and monetize the content?
I'm a bit annoyed by the same comments about the content quality on HIVE, and how the blogging part of HIVE is useless...
Exactly! The point is to find a different approach to that, and not blame authors for "bad content"...
As I mentioned @lordbutterfly, he has set up one profiling, so music and contests to attract people to the Hive blockchain; I'm saying that @liotes and Inleo have also set up a similar way of bringing people to the chain in the financial field. So, I call it profiling, activities to attract a specific group to the network... There is a lot of space here (photography, travel, nature, etc.), and someone has to start working on it. Just where is it?
you and @seckorama mentioned SEO and multiple frontends. I know there is a term for claiming the content (where it was originally posted) and only frontend that managed to "keep" it under them is Travelfeed. No idea how they did it.
I have 2-3 posts that are top 10 SEO written on Travelfeed and google always shows TravelFeed link. "Cats Corfu" search is in top 5 results for 5 years now and when ever i check it is Travelfeed front end.
I got decent ranking on Plitvice post. I wrote it in Peakd, but google showed it in Hive.blog for few weeks. Now i did the search and "Plitvice Lakes Photography Tips" was at second page as peakd post. And i tried adding rain "Plitvice Lakes Photography Tips Rain" and it was top 4 result but in ecency 🤷♂ and for some reason non of them have photo preview.
It was a great show. Thanks for the recap. We got into some deep talk about important topics. Looking forward to the next one. I hope your migraine has gone. I just took new delivery of pills for mine 😃
Thanks, man! Regarding migraines, after the move to the new apartment, most of the time I was fine and I can't remember when I took the last pill! But that day, I didn't take my afternoon nap, and it cost me a migraine...
It looks like lack of good sleep is one of the reasons for my headaches...
Talking about AI I thought hive is against it. The games though being in hive is very entertaining especially splinterlands
I see that @bil.prag replied about the AI part, and I agree with him... As long as you state that it is AI content, you are good to go... But, leaving AI to do all job and pretending that you did it, is a big NO-NO...
Yahh I understand that 100%
it is not about AI, it is how you use it. if you post a whole article written by AI then it makes no sense. If you use AI to get some facts about a place and add a paragraph to a 700 word post, no problem. If you make a thumbnail with AI for a post you are making, no one would care...
Problem is, people would just go to chatgpt and write make me a post about XYZ and copy that and post on hive...
At least my take on it.
Ohhh now I get. So the best way is like asking AI for an opinion and creating a post out from that opinion?
The best way is to do is to have your OWN opinion, isn't it?
You ask AI when you are hungry, or you go to eat. 😃
Lolzzz 😆😆 I dont think so
it probably depends on what you are writing about. i sometimes use it as a search, for same data for example about a place. or at one time while making videos for CTT podcast i used it to generate images for the video, so i didn't use stock images. so it is help not writing tool :)
Do one always pay to create this thumbnail or some are free ?
here are 2 i got recomended yesterday. didn't test it out
Bing also has some free credits to for images. I think it was around 50 or so.
Venice.ai also has some free images (i don't like the images it makes, at least what i tried)
!discovery 30
Thanks for the curation! Appreciated!
Splinterlands is not self sustained, beside dhf founds, basically every development is being paid by the Dao, lands, validates, etc... They would be dead already without Dao...
Risingstar active players keeps dropping weekly... So I don't really know what games are really sustainable, let's see holozing...
The problem with hive monetizing is that you get votes only if you know the right persons, I see trash content getting big votes just because friend of someone or autovotes, and good content getting little to nothing
I disagree with that... Without the DHF funds, it would not be dead, but there would be less development, for sure... Selling stuff in the game is the way to be self-sustainable... How would you generate income for your game? How would you pay developers, coders, artists?
That is partially true, and we should work on that... Btw. don't get me wrong, but you are writing about these problems, while you are the problem too... Delegating all your HivePower to someone else gives power to that party to upvote (and downvote) posts with YOUR power... They pick good or bad posts, and they are those "friends-who-are-upvoting" that you mentioned...
Isn't better that you upvote people with YOUR HivePower that YOU want to support? If everyone would do that, we wouldn't have too many things that you described...
Just my 2c... Nothing personal... 😉
Regarding splinterlands, I'm not talking about dhf founds, maybe you are not much into it but the community (sps.dao) has basically been paying most of developments for more than a year keeping alive the company, check these
https://peakd.com/@splinterlands/sps-governance-proposal-hire-splinterlands-to-develop-the-next-major-card-set-conclave-arcana
https://peakd.com/@splinterlands/sps-governance-proposal-hire-cryptomancer-to-develop-the-secret-of-praetoria-land-expansion
(in this one the community pays cryptomancer 30k$ stable every month, all money not paid by the company)
https://peakd.com/@splinterlands/sps-governance-proposal-hire-jptr-corp-to-develop-sps-chain
And more...
You are right on the second point, but I consider my full HP so crappy and little that my vote matters like a plancton in the ocean 😅
Regarding Splinterlands, I know that DAO pays out salaries, but I don't know how they fund all things around... All in all, IMO, the bad money management was the main reason SPL went in the bad direction... Again... It's easy to criticize from the sidelines... I'm not sure that I will do better in that situation either...
Don't underestimate your power... There are many plankton in the sea... Much more than whales... 😉
