Literature mirrors life , literature is the body of all written works , is the collected creative writing of a nation, culture and traditions.

We have genres of literature , we can also call them literary genres;

1. Fiction: Is an imaginary writing about characters in a short stories.
2. Non fiction: is a life experience writing , true life story , it can be an historical writing about events like Diary , Biography.
3. Drama: is a play and script that bring stories to life through performance (action)
4. Poetry: is a writing in a short lines or it can be called a summary of something, it consists of verse and lyrical , which evoke emotions and ideas.
   we have figure of speech or literacy devices ;
5. Irony: using something opposite to compare a thing like "Silent noise"
6. Symbolism: using objects or colours to represent an abstract ideas like " the crown is angry "( this means the king is angry)
7. Imagery : using language to create vivid sensory experiences
8. Foreshadowing: hinting at events that will occur later in the story. This occurs in a drama called "let me die alone"
9. Metaphor : comparing two unlike things without using like or as . E g Peter is a goat"
10. Simile : comparing two unlike things with using like and as.
    And other devices like Pun, oxymoron and many others.
