Did you know the Leaning Tower of Pisa started tilting during its construction in the 12th century because it was built on soft ground? To fix the tilt, architects made one side of the upper floors taller, which created its famous curve. Finished in 1372, the #tower still leans about 4 degrees today after being stabilized to keep it from falling. 📸: @carlocafferini #architectanddesign
