Here are some memorable quotes from "Rambo 3":

Colonel Trautman: "You don't seem to want to accept the fact that you're dealing with an expert in guerrilla warfare, with a man who's the best with guns, with knives, with his bare hands."

John Rambo: "What you choose to call hell, he calls home."

Colonel Zaysen: "Who do you think this man is? God?" Colonel Trautman: "No. God would have mercy. He won't."

Rambo: "I'm not a tourist."

Colonel Trautman: "It’s good to hear your voice, Johnny. It’s been a long time."

Sylvester Stallone returns as John Rambo but this time he is not in Jail like at the start of the 2nd part he is actually decided to live a peaceful life somewhere in Thailand where he works a normal living and also taking on sports of stick fighting. We see John Rambo being settled in Thailand unlike in part 1 where he was all alone and had issues adjusting to the society in the U.S. We see Colonel Trautman come to visit John Rambo and he tells him he needs to join him for a visit to Afghanistan for a mission as the Russia has invaded Afghanistan and America does not want them controlling that territory.

Just like in part 2 this movie did not align with the political views of that time as America had settled their differences with Russia and the cold war was over officially. We see John Rambo telling Colonel Trautman that he is done with serving the U.S army and he will not take any part in any war any more. Colonel Trautman decides to go on this mission alone to Afghanistan and then he gets captured over there by the Russian army so the U.S armed forces send one of their officials to tell John Rambo about this and John Rambo urges that he is willing to go to Afghanistan to rescue his long time buddy Colonel Trautman.

We see John Rambo arriving at Afghanistan and there he really enjoys the company of the local people and the mujahidin who are at the time in alliance with the Americans in a joint effort to fight their oppression on the Afghanistan soil and I can safely say that even in the present times U.S.A have decided to bring all of their troops back from Afghanistan so currently these two countries are at peace. John Rambo sees that the woman and the children of the local people are being oppressed by the Russian armed forces so feels a lot of empathy for them and decides to join forces with them to fight them.

John Rambo kills over 155 people in this movie so expect a lot of violence in this movie which is more than even part 2. In one of the scenes we see Russian combat helicopters arriving at the place where the Mujahidin are present and they start bombing and machine gunning every one over there so John Rambo runs towards a mounted machine gun and starts repeatedly shooting one of these Russian Hinds and succeeds in destroying it.

We see John Rambo riding horses along side the Mujahidin and also playing their national sports known as the buzkashi. So John Rambo in a way is really enjoying the company of the Mujahidin but he has come to Afghanistan for a mission to rescue his long time friend Colonel Trautman which we see him peruse all throughout the duration of the movie as he goes to the Russian prisons where Colonel Trautman is held captive and eventually rescues him. In the end scene there is an epic battle where we see lots of Armored Personnel carriers, Tanks and also Combat helicopters attacking the Mujahidin who are on mere horses but they give them a fight because they know John Rambo is on their side and we see John Rambo handling a tank to fight a huge Russian hind in an epic scene which is unforgettable for me.

I loved the locations of Afghanistan shown in the movie which has a lot of mountainous terrains and barren lands. We see John Rambo refusing Colonel Trautman to going back with him and decides to stay in Afghanistan. For me Rambo 3 was a great movie and brought a lot of new elements to this successful franchise and loved his friendship arc with Colonel Trautman. I will give Rambo 3 a 10/10 and for me this is the last best Rambo movie in the series because part 4 and part 5 came after a long duration just to fill the nostalgia of the fans of the franchise really and were filler movies without Colonel Trautman those movies felt empty really.
