This is an old movie in fact over 27 years have passed since it was originally released in theaters. We see a police man take a hit on a mafia gangster. The mafia boss is not happy with the police commissioner of that town. Who will he find to take revenge? Surely the Mafia knows plenty of hitmen but there can only be one really that fits the role of a true assassin. A ruthless, nameless one who does not think of anything but finishing the job given to him. That is why he asks for half the payment in advance why not? he is a professional and professionals build a reputation this is a fact of life that is brilliantly explored in this movie.
Bruce Willis plays one of his most memorable roles as the assassin selected for the assignment to take revenge for the mafia. However, the cid police somehow knows that a hit might be on the rise. Somebody who spent some time in the prison with this Assassin known as code named "The Jackal" that person is non other played by the graceful Richard Gere.
The cat and mouse games begin and no body can predict what will be the next move of the assassin code named "The Jackal". I think this movies did great service to the "The day of the Jackal" 1973 with brilliant acting from both Richard Gere as the hero and the villian known as the Jackal. The nostalgia is great in this one, I will give it 10/10.
