Finding My Rhythm in Sweden

in Ecency8 days ago

Now that the initial chaos of moving has settled, I’m beginning to find my rhythm in this new life. It’s a slow process—adjusting, learning, and embracing the unexpected—but it feels right.

One of the biggest shifts has been letting go of productivity as an identity. In Germany, my days were structured, packed, and measured by output. Here, I’m learning that being busy doesn’t equal being fulfilled. Life moves differently in Sweden. People take their time. There’s no rush. And for someone like me, who has spent years pushing forward, this change is both liberating and uncomfortable.

I catch myself wanting to “achieve” something every day. But what if simply being is enough?

Lessons from Nature

Living in a rural area, surrounded by forests and lakes, has changed the way I think about time. The seasons dictate the rhythm of life, not deadlines or expectations. The sun rises late and sets early, especially in winter, making me realize how much I’ve been conditioned to resist natural cycles.

Instead of forcing productivity, I’m learning to:
🍂 Observe – Watching how the landscape changes every day reminds me that growth happens naturally, not by force.
❄️ Rest – Winter is not a season of failure, but of preparation. Even when everything looks still, transformation is happening beneath the surface.
🌱 Trust – Just like nature, we go through seasons of expansion and contraction. Both are necessary.

Embracing the Unknown

Of course, there are still days of doubt. Days where I wonder if I’ve made the right decision. But every time I step outside, breathe in the crisp air, and feel the weight of expectations lift, I know I am exactly where I need to be.

This is just the beginning of my Swedish journey. There are still so many things to explore, lessons to learn, and stories to share. If you’ve ever considered a life change, I encourage you to embrace the discomfort. It’s in those moments of uncertainty that the most beautiful transformations happen.

More soon. 💙✨ #LifeInSweden #Resilience #NewBeginnings
