My engagement on Hive

This post tells about the story of my engagement on Hive. πŸ˜…

Some difficulties

Engagement on Hive, or what basically means here as meaningful communication between other Hive users, is fun and great, until it starts taking too much time. 🀯

Every comment I publish takes between 2 to 5 minutes. That length of time is short indeed, but not until they get multiplied by 50 per day, which results to an average of almost 3 hours of commenting per day.

Typically, a Hive user would spend only a few minutes to read a post or comment and reply to it with a comment. However, it very often takes me more than that because of any combination of following:

  • reading the original post before typing the comment
  • replying with a comment with more than one topic
  • searching for older comments and posts relevant to the conversation
  • searching #HiveEngine or #HiveEngineExplorer to see token data relevant to the conversation
  • adding at least one hyperlink on the comment
  • using a mobile device to type the comment

The main reason for this post

(Please remember that the dates and times below follow UTC)

3 days ago, I almostmy post for yesterday less than 30 minutes before the beginning of this day, and the reason why that post was almost late was because I prioritized replying to comments first yesterday. It's okay, because I completed Powering Up at least 1 HIVE daily in 2024. wasn't able to Power Up 1 HIVE for the #HiveBuzz Hive Power Up Month badge. That was fine, until today came and noticed that there wasn't any HIVE Powered Up yesterday. I published

Appreciation

This section shows my appreciation for Hive people who loved to talked to me (and @savvytester) for the past 2 years.

  9. @rzc24-nftbbg and @ifarmgirl may not be able to reply to every single comment, but definitely respond when they get a comment or mention after some time.
  10. @astym, @astramar, and @iceledy try to be on Hive as often as they can despite life circumstances.

I can't name them all so I decided to type only 10 lines of appreciation and a maximum of 2 sentences per line. Regardless, if I and/or @savvytester replied to someone often, then it's most likely I appreciate them too. πŸ€—

Future plans

This is not a goodbye post!

I'm just going to publish posts and comments less often, starting on the first day of next month. I'm still committed to engagement here on Hive, but it is no longer practically possible to reply to every single comment no matter how meaningful and kind. Publishing a long post also takes anywhere between 1 to 3 hours, so that's something I would do only when I have a lot of time on a given day to prepare such post on Hive.

I would also continue to try to get #HiveBuzz Hive Power Up Day (HPUD) and Hive Power Up Month (HPUM) badges starting next month.

I don't really struggle with my phone per say.
I struggle with electricity supply.
The phone I am using now is better than what I used two years ago.

So, getting a laptop isn't a necessity to me right now.
But if I can own one, it's still a great thing.
