None of the HBD on the Hive fund account wallet is staked. π€ I don't think any HBD on that wallet should be staked, as its sole purpose is to hold the HBD funds that they get distributed to all Hive proposals whose votes are above the Return Proposal. π€

OK, so how is it replenished? And what happens if and when it runs out? π π π β¨ π€

The Hive fund is replenished both through inflation of the HIVE token (where it takes almost all of its funding) and through people on Hive who voluntarily add to the fund (by setting hive.fund as the beneficiary of their posts and comments, by curating content whose author rewards go to hive.fund, and/or by sending HIVE or HBD directly to hive.fund). π€
I haven't read thoroughly what happens when the funds run out, though it is safe to assume that some or all Hive proposals won't get funding for at least one time when the funds become depleted. π€―π

That's very useful information, thanks a lot! It is good to know that the DHF is being replenished over time, and from multiple sources.
Yep, if the DHF runs out of assets, all project funding would also stop. That would be very unfortunate indeed. π π π β¨ π€

All the author rewards and curator rewards that are paid out 7 days after a post or comment got published also come from HIVE token inflation. π€ The same goes with earnings from Hive Power (or staked HIVE) and payment for Hive Witnesses. π
I think that when the Hive Fund runs out of funds, only those most voted on will get funding as long as their "support" (total votes from all Hive accounts) are above the Return Proposal (RP). π€ The rest won't get funding for a "round" (an hour) even if their respective supports are above the RP. π

Yep, Hiveflation is definitely a significant thing! I'm not usually into inflation, but I dig this sort, as it powers so much of the Blockchain.
How would they be funded then if the DHF runs out of funds? If there are no funds to distribute, how would even the most-voted proposals be funded? π π π β¨ π€

I think that the Hive fund can get "depleted" (almost run out of funds) but not totally zeroed, because it has multiple sources of funds, HIVE token inflation being normally the first. π€π€―π€―π

OK, that's good to know. I still haven't looked into exactly how the DHF actually works. πππβ¨π€
