Somewhat, yes. There are two main types of phone networks, CDMA and GSM, so the phone that is chosen needs to be compatible with the mobile network to which it's being connected.
Yeah, I despise locked bootloaders, because it takes control of my own phone out of my hands. My next phone will have an unlocked bootloader, as I'm taking back my right to manage my own device. 😁🙏💚✨🤙
