Yep, I do promotion on my Hive posts on X, Noise.Cash, Bastyon, DeSo, and Tangled. It's quite helpful.
Each level takes progressively longer. Getting to level one takes about a week, level two takes about a month, level 3 takes a few months, on and on. I'm at level 3, and I have about 92 days to go to get to level 4. I don't remember exactly how long getting to level 5 takes. Probably several months, or even close to a year. You can refer or recommend Qortal to people at any time, as that has nothing to do with your level. If you want to be able to sponsor someone so that s/he can start minting/become a minter, yes, you do need to be level 5 to do so. Minting is not required to utilize the many aspects of the Blockchain, but is rather a motivation to keep your node online 24/7. πππβ¨π€
I wonder how many new users you have onboarded to Hive by cross-posting on other platforms. π€π
Anyway, I noticed that even without the ability to mint, every #Qortal node needs to be online as long as possible to increase its level quickly, such that a node that is online only for 12 hours a day will need double the days to reach the next level compared to a node that is always online. π€

That's a good question! Across the four blockchains where I'm active, a nice cross-blockchain community is developing! I know some people on three of the four. I love that, and I want to create more of it!
Well, yes and no. Yes, it's important to keep one's node online as much as possible, which does help progress go faster, but no due to not actually needing to be online at all times. Payouts happen once per day, though when it happens is variable. If you happen to be online when the check is done, you'll get paid, if you're not, you won't.
I really think that for some people, maintaining accounts on many platforms would be inconvenient for them, even if all those platforms are good. π€―
Maybe you can recommend a VPS provider for #Qortal nodes for people who can't spare their own hardware and network for operating a node as close to 24/7 as possible. π€π€

Perhaps, but personally I've never had a problem with it, though I'm far from the usual. I've always been on many platforms, though since discovering Hive I spend a lot less time on most of them. Only the sovereignty-driven social blockchains keep my unwavering attention.
Honestly I have no idea, as I've never used a VPS. The Qortal software runs quite well on a pretty wide range of hardware, also the core can be run on one system, and the UI on another, with communication via ssh. In terms of blockchain nodes, Qortal's is fairly light weight. πππβ¨π€
Maybe you want to publish (dedicated) posts for each of the other "sovereignty-driven" platforms (such as Bastyon, DeSo, Tangled, and of course, #Qortal). π€π€
That's been suggested to me before, and I've thought about it quite a lot. If I were to do it well, it would take a little planning, and time to dedicate to it, but I will probably do just that at some point soon. It's funny that you mention Tangled, as I only recently started exploring that one. It has some very interesting infrastructure that is being built. Unfortunately, the tangled.com website saves emails and passwords for logins (which isn't very decentralized), and one day I got logged out and could not log back in, or change my password, so I'm basically locked out of it at the moment. π π π β¨ π€
