Yes, there are indeed drawbacks to getting a phone through the carrier, the most important of which is they lock all the bootloaders! They also load the phone will all sorts of apps that I don't need or want, and without root access, that I can't uninstall! πππβ¨π€

Just a decade or two ago, phones were easier and safer to unlock when locked by whatever carrier locked them. π€π€― Now, forcing to unlock the bootloader can often brick phones. π€―π€―πΈπ

Well, for phones it voids the warranty, for laptops, I have no idea, probably. I never get warranty plan if they offer it, because I'm not a regular user. πππβ¨π€
