A target audience is likely to be customers of a business/ people most likely to be interested in your brand's product or service. Not knowing your target audience means not knowing the business.

Most businesses think that they can run their business on instincts or that they know what their audience wants, but I've met only a handful who really know the value of this.
You need to know who your brand is speaking to. This is extremely crucial because that is the center of all strategic decision-making, which includes your branding- and marketing strategy.
Your first step is to know your audience, but the real struggle starts when you start scaling at it and try to get in front of them.
Be 100% sure of your branding!
No matter what decisions you make, you need to be sure that at the end of the day it will impact your customer the way you want it to.

No more guessing who your audience is and what they want.
If you follow these 3-steps you will be able to define your audience the right way;
- Create an imaginary someone ( Give it a name)
Here is an example;
Bobby Zook
- 30 years old, male
- Owns 2 businesses
- Is married, has 1 kid
- 200K annual income
- Has 5 employees
- Drives a KIA
- Good with money
- Golfs on weekends
- Loves luxury brands like Apple
- Write down the pain points (challenges)
- Stressed out from working long hours
- Difficult to keep up with tasks
- Bad at creating content
- Struggling to design brand message
- Write down solutions ( how will you solve them)
- Automize the customer's journey
- Implement a time-saving software
- Create customized and branded content
- Design branded taglines and statements
When you're done you need to ask yourself how it will impact the mind of your audience. You can change according to the answer you find in your question.
