Our children are taught with, implicit in the background, a rigid society which needs certain physical and intellectual skills. But, fortunately, the society of today is, even if far from perfect, much more fluid and open than that of the previous centuries.

What I see besides the open mind, is "paper intelligence" from many. Learn and repeat and not think by themselves.
IMO creative thinking is the way we need in the future. Problem-solving minds :)
That should be the ultimate goal. Problem-solving minds overperform often.
The Internet and free knowledge is IMO the way to archive it and future schools are the support unit behind it only to show "what's possible".
But that's something far away in the future.

Totally! Everything which only requires knowledge and routine processes is going to gradually be shifted onto computer programs, putting problem solving and creativity at a premium in humans.
A complementary axis will be collaboration: two problem-solving minds collaborating are much more powerful than when they each work alone. And I think we could improve the education system to better explain the "science" of getting people to work together and collaborate.
