RE: Day 11 - Advent Calendar 2023, Win prize everyday! ๐ŸŽ„๐ŸŽ

in Ecency โ€ข last year

Just like last year, I only discovered this advent initiative halfway through, but let's say it's better late than never :)

I live at the Spanish coast of Almeria, this is just our second winter here though. I can tell you how last winter was. Even though it can get a bit chilly at night and in the morning, I have managed to get through the winter by wearing a t shirt topped with a vest.

While I had no coat (I didn't take it with me from Budapest as it was a heavy item which I probably wouldn't need here) I started to get a bit uncomfortable not knowing if one day it would be raining cats and dogs, so I ordered a new winter coat. I wore it twice!

If it was a bit colder than normal, I would just add a scarf to the mix and then it was all good. Last winter we didn't have a car yet, so now that we do, it's even more pleasant because we can just throw a jacket/coat in the car if needed so we don't overdress. This is a serious thing here, thinking it's chilly and then the sun appears and you're overdressed with long sleeves.

I don't think there will be snow here but a little further you can see the mountain top being covered in snow, which is quite funny if you consider we're still walking around in our t-shirts.

For me snow is something that I love seeing and it's a great feeling around Christmas especially if everything is decorated, but as long as I don't have to walk through the snow myself because when I slip it usually means I pay the price with my knee or back for weeks to come. I would be very surprised if I'd open the window one morning and look at the ocean view with snow covered on the buildings between us and the sea.

Never say never though :)
