sounds like you're a pretty cool cat, welcome to hive and hope it treats you well!

If you don't already know you can use ! commands in the comments, like
!hbit to mine some hbit for you and the person you're commenting on,

and

!gif welcome

! gif (insert keyword) makes a bot drop a gif comment, as you'll see

Sort:

Whoah so that's how people add GIFs to their comments -
Also, what's hivebits? Because I just saw that and it wasn't in any of the guides ;;w;;

it's a token created on the hive engine just for use in comments like this, most of the commands such as pizza, lolz, pgm, et cetera, they require you to have a certain amount of the token staked before you can utilize the ! command but
!hbit
works for anyone i think like 1-5 times a day or something, most of the others have daily limits as well, theres a lot of the tokens to learn about. If you're going to be making fairly often posts, then it's a good idea to learn about HSBI units too, Hive/Steem Basic Income Units, basically they cost 1 hive each, and you have to sponsor another account so for example if I bought you some we would both get an equal amount, and vice versa if you sponsored me. And for every SBI unit you have, you get a partial vote from a loaded account on your posts I think once a day, and if you don't post the percentage of vote you get builds up. I have 50 sbi units and got about 0.06 vote rewards immediately on every blog post I make.

That got way longer than I expected, hope it wasnt too much 😅

I'm still a bit lost on that because I wasn't sure steem was a part of the hive ecosystem. I kind of get the part where it's a token for certain commands but what about the sponsoring part?

To sponsor someone you just send a hive token to the @steembasicincome account with someone elses account name in the memo, and that sponsors them. I don't have any liquid this second or I'd sponsor you right now, I will the next time I have a whole hive for it though. And the Hive blockchain is formerly known as Steem to my understanding, not to be confused with the Steam gaming service

Hive blockchain forked from Steem blockchain a couple of years ago. Steem blockchain still exists separately.

thanks for the clarification

I just sponsored you on one HSBI unit btw!

!pizza
!hbit

What is hsbi???

I explained in the comments near this one last week i believe, it is the hive basic income units, you get a unit for every unit you donate to someone, so since I donated one to you I also get one, and you can stack them up to receive automatic upvotes from the @steembasicincome account I tagged previously. You get one vote every day and if you don't use it your vote weight stacks up so you can end up getting nice curation rewards no matter what - I see from your more recent posts though that you seem to have figured out the curation rewards better than I have already haha! I would love to know how you got the ecency vote on all your posts, just from posting on ecency? I use peakd

It was a series of trial and error plus a collection of all the tips people have shared with me. That's basically how I got around to collecting enough points to boost my post plus figuring out the right communities each post should go to.
As for the bits, I forgot about that cuz of work 😅

Success! You mined .9 HBIT & the user you replied to received .1 HBIT on your behalf. mine | wallet | market | tools | discord | subscribe | <>< daily
