Duolingo as a new daily habit (2025.02.20)

I started using Duolingo nine days ago as a Hungarian to learn Spanish, and today I have a nine days streak, and Duolingo says that "Your new daily habit is starting to pay off!"

I also see it.

Since I started using it, usually I spend around 15-20 minutes per day with Duolingo, and now I have a very basic knowledge of Spanish.

This means that I can understand and write very basic Spanish sentences.

For example "Hace viento hoy" (Today is windy), or "Un vaso de agua, por favor" (A glass of water, please), or "¿Hay una panadería en tu pueblo?" (Is there a bakery in your village?), or "¿Hace frio en diciembre en tu ciudad?" (Is the December cold in your city?).

I learn Spanish (at least a very basic Spanish) playfully, even with a few minutes per day with Duolingo.

Based on my first nine days experience with it, I would gladly recommend Duolingo for beginner language learners.

I made a goal of achieving a 40 days streak with Duolingo.
