Our brains work in funny ways. I've gone through a hell of a rough start to my year, with the infection and ending up in hospital. Now I have come out of that and I now know, more or less, with certainty, that I will survive this and that I will probably keep my leg and the ability to walk.
One would think that now, given the opportunity and the motive presented by the additional costs to be motivated to work right? WRONG!
Actually, this is not news to me. I have see in countless of times myself in others. So, after less than 24 hours of the onset of brain-fog. I have at least been able to identify it and I think that this is part and key to breaking out of it.
I mean look at me go. I am writing a post right now aren't I?
Well, I also looked at what I have been doing on Hive and been considering what I can do to improve. I also realized that I should probably focus on diversity.
But before I jump into that topic, let me explain what I mean about Costs and Money being a poor motivator, ironically. There are MANY people that are in a position where they could earn a little extra by working extra and yet few take that opportunity.
I used to be a workaholic, but I have learned to be better than that. Now I work toward certain goals although, while I have teenagers in the house, this is going to be damn challenging.
In any case, money is nothing in terms of motivation. Instead concrete goals are far more inspiring.
The above image is actually my background on my PC. This is a visual reminder for myself to stay on track. I have been in projects where I seem to have an unsurmountable amount of work and yet, when I put my head to it, I can get it ALL done!
The best way:
- Write down all the tasks.
- Reorder those tasks into a list of importance/chronological order/availability order.
- Pick the first item on that list and FOCUS.
- Conclude and get on with the next item!
- ?????
- Profit!
Sometimes closing your eyes and stopping yourself from trying to analyze everything and forecast everything is the better cause of action. Just go forth and do it. It does not matter how small the win is, but a win is a win and once you start winning, it becomes easier to win again!
Warhammer Reviews!
So I am done with the Astra Militarum Index and Aeldari Index.
Here is the current Release lineup of the year ahead:
NOW
Aeldari - Has been released and the new rules are out.
Astra Militarum - On the Pre-Orders and about to release the rules.
Emperor's Children - Used to be a footnote in the Chaos Space Marine Codex. Now getting their own Codex but nothing to Review until they are out. The last of the four dedicated to one Chaos God Legions.
COMING NEXT
World Eaters
Death Guard
Thousand Sons
These are Chaos Legions dedicated to their patron Gods respectively: Khorne, Nurgle and Tzeetch.
I have done a few datasheets for each but together they have 70 datasheets, 3 army rules and 6 Detachments that I have not yet reviewed! Wow!
One of my buddies suggested trying to get that all done in 1 month. Challenge accepted!
ON THE HORIZON
There Grey blocks are supposed to give us a mysterious hint at upcoming releases but when you have a bunch of nerd fanboys in the community (ahem I guess I fit that shoe*) then it becomes easy to see what is coming next.
Top Left - Grey Knights
Top Right - Salamanders Space Marines
Bottom Left - Black Templars Space Marines
Bottom Right - Chaos Knights
So... even if I managed to get all of the COMING NEXT done within 30 days then I still have PLENTY to review!
Wish my luck and good luck at getting stuff DONE!
Cheers!
