I hate Powering Down... it seemed logical but new trends delays my actions - Balance

I hate powering down, but sometimes it is necessary. For some, there is a cycle that can be capitalized on, for the savvy, but I do not see myself as a crypto trader.

On Hive, we earn in a Crypto-Currency. This gives us a decentralized currency to be rewarded in all across the world. We then exchange that for various other currencies.

I am content and happy with this model:

I post content and voters vote on my post to be rewarded and I earn HIVE and HBD.
I vote on content to be rewarded and I earn HIVE from the curation.

There is of course so income on comments and some tips as well but overall, the main thing that I have learned and I TEACH others on Hive is that all you need to do is write posts about what interests you, make it as interesting as you can for yourself and those that read it and compound your earnings.

Over time, I have also proved the FACT that if you remain active on Hive that you will earn more and more. Your potential does not flatline. As you make more friends and hold more HP, the larger your gains.

The Plan was.

I needed to put some of my Stake of HP into Hive and have it ready for a Bull Cycle price to sell and obtain HBD.

I would then wait for the Bull to end and Bear to begin and I would be able to buy back Hive at a profit.

This year is meant to be that part of the 4 year cycle. But there are other influences. Like the Trump Pump.

There was a surge in crypto prices, so I started getting ready. This was still nothing like the ATH of Hive of November 2021. But I would need to put Hive into Liquid form to be ready.

The Current situation

Right now there seems to be a gradual decline and liquidation happening. The Trump Pump was a mini Bull and created crypto volatility.

Trades love volatility. Many lose. Some win. Traders love the thrill and chase of that win.

I am not a trader. I am quite content to sell at far below the ATH. Think of me more like the the honest farmer. I tend my fields and post my posts. I water the crops and tend the field. Then harvesting season comes and I get my best price for my effort for a short while.

This is what I am interested in doing. Sell at a fair price. I am not interested in chasing the ATH. But a moderate seasonal high is good enough for me.

I shall continue to build after that.

So what now?

I think I should keep an amount of Liquid Hive ready for trade when it occurs. My total "Harvest" amount was meant to be 3500 Hive for Personal and 1500 Hive for my Warhammer fund. I gathered 1075 Hive for the Warhammer fund and am now paying off in HBD. But this was a total of 5000 Hive, give or take.

I should probably stop my power down and then build up to Dolphin level again. I have 2,296 Hive in liquid.

Recently I have been in hospital and I might need some cash to cover my shortfall and additional expenses.

Hive has saved me many times

I have reaped the benefits of Hive where it saved me from... well... poverty.

The Car Battery is something that is funded 100% on Hive. There are many other things. I need to remind myself not to feel guilty when I use these funds to feed the family and fuel the home.

It IS why I blog after all.

Well... I LIKE blogging. I would probably do it even if I had a lot of money. But the result is that I do not need to fear being without food and resources.

Well... this has been a bit of a ramble.

The point is that timing is important and while I am someone who likes to be steadfast in my decisions, I also need to maintain a flexibility to react to situations.

Thank you for reading!

Cheers!

Balance is everything, I want to accumulate more HIVE but having HBD in savings is still an incredible thing. Having liquid to buy is good too, but like me you will sell too much at 0.75 and when HIVE touches $3 you won't have much to trade. Also, I am sad for all the users who, although they are 'receiving good income' from their early adopter fanbase, are cashing out all their Hive which is future stake in this platform. 30,000 HIVE or more, some users have sold. And its fine to do that, it is their choice, but long term, I will still be here 8 years from now, as long as the world is still turning and Hive Blocks are being stamped with great posts. The only thing I prefer to swap my Hive or HBD for, is for HDB and Hive. On a long enough timeline, Hive mathematically becomes more valuable. By its nature it will continue to become more valuable with every new post and every new user, both as information, and as digital Silver. Hive and BTC seem to trade together like Silver and Gold. Silver, because it is the common money. What are tier one assets in my mind? BTC, Hive, HBD, Silver, and Gold.

Very cool analysis and thoughts!

Thank you man.

Onward and upward! Let's grow!

aaaah babe. there is a time for everything in life. A time to reap, a time to sow... Right now, as we navigate your your post-hospital experience, we need to pull bucks from wherever we can. We'll get through this <3

PS it's not a ar battery we need but a car tyre. Lol

Indeed. I shall be drawing a bit to see us through...

Nono. I mean that we bought the current car battery WITH Hive money!

oh god yes, thank goodness for that! At least we could cover that with hive. That's not something the warrantee would have covered anyway.

Yeah. There has been many instances where Hive has saved our Bacon. Its been integral to our survival really. Considering all the things its funded for you my love.

Difficult choice to power down. I'm holding out a long as possible as I sold my liquid hive to buy other coins that I'm hoping will make better profits to cash out thus diversifying the portfolio.

💪💪💪 My main strength is the ability to earn more from blogging... so blogging I shall do!

That's exactly what I've been doing. Started a power down for a couple of weeks and bought some HBD from the Hive I bought at 0.17 in September from HBD.
I've already bought quite some HBD and enjoying the 15% APR now.
I still have 4600 Liquid Hive for future pumps.

Just like you I'm not a trader, so my trades are on the safe side too.
I just try to make some more profit with it.

Cool. Thank you. Then we are on the right track.

Right now I will keep 2k free and free more up later.

Time to just blog and grow again!

I have not started a power down yet, but soon will just in case and it will be a big one hoping to make a big difference when buying back cheaper. I don't think anyone will achieve the exact top and why laddering in and out is a must do.

Indeed. I was also considering laddering in and out on the prices.

There is a price I would be happy with, but I would sell in a range because nobody garuantees the ATH.
